Baan Thai - Carta

I had a take away about five years ago from this restaurant and I remember being very disappointed However we were with friends and decided to give them another chance looking at some of the recent reviews..

Nothing special. Tried for the first time, food was just ok. Green curry was way too spicy when they are generally more fragrant, Pad thai was nothing special. Jasmine rice that they delivered was just plain boiled rice. Wouldn't recommend.

This is without doubt the best Thai meal we have had outside of Thailand. We had the set menu D. I am not even sure what we are but there was a chicken curry that had an almost floral flavour. Then a spicy prawn dish that was fiery but full of flavour. Ver carta

I ordered Satay, Singapore noodles with Chicken and prawn crackers. I was so disappointed. The noodles tastes like chicken super noodles with some raw veg and dry chicken in. The satay was dry and came with the smallest put of peanut sauce! The prawn crackers are not the same as Chinese ones. Spicy. I wouldn't order from them again

What was good: kept updated re. delivery time. What was poor: the food and the packaging. Nothing was freshly cooked. I can understand noodles are precooked and kept warm but the chicken was dry and hard and had been sitting around. The mixed starters were old and dry and ended up in the bin. Polystyrene containers are just not on. Can't be recycled. Not needed for home delivery.

I hate leaving negative reviews but have just ordered from here for the first time in a few years after a bad first experience. No better this time unfortunately. Flavourless soup which needed sorting at home. Bone dry chicken and noodles which again, needed flavouring at home. I WANT small businesses like this to be good but this meal was very, very poor. Doesn't feel like there is any love going into their food at all. Ver carta

The order arrived on time but that was the only good bit. Chicken was so tough and dry it was inedible, the sauces were really watery and tasteless, phad thai noodles were slimy and stuck together. All in all it was the worst Thai food I have ever experienced and will not be going there again. We have had a bad experience here before but wanted to give them another chance, last one I am afraid. Generous portions but awful food.

Tried out this place for the first time recently, it's only down the road from us so was hoping for a great experience. Food was well packaged and hot but I always judge a Thai meal by the quality of the Pad Thai. Unfortunately it wasn't great and was quite disappointing. Reading through some of the other reviews this seems to be a theme. Hopefully Baan Thai receive this feedback and make some changes. I'll then consider trying them out again, but currently can get better elsewhere.

I tried this place for the first time and it was by far the worst Thai takeaway I have ever had. Unfortunately, the food was flavourless with just lumps of meat in flavourless water. I had the massaman curry which tasted nothing like it should (or at least how its tastes in an actual authentic thai restaurant I've been to before!! The chicken satay was dry, the spring rolls clearly heated up from frozen, the sauce for the thai curry tasted as though it was from a packet mix, but worse. I am very disappointed, and although cheaper than competitive Thai restaurants, the price I paid was not good enough value for the standard of food I recieved.
