this was a birthday party for my father, who was 80 this day and the two girls in the service were excellent and cared for our table. superb.

Not what I expected from web site. Food average. I expected the high prices but food didn’t compare with prices. Decor average for a bistro. Would not return.

This wonderful restaurant is located within Balbirnie House, and is filled with charm and atmosphere. The food is delightful and delicious, offered at a very reasonable price. I would highly recommend dining here, and nothing beats finishing off with a cup of coffee in the lounge.

good experience, was a little spoiled by a family of two young children, rather loud, and walking around, and not disciplined by elders. our reason to come here and not go to the local wetherspoons was to celebrate my wife's birthday in a quiet environment. also when I booked table, it mentioned the birthday of my wife, but that was not recognized. would recommend to anyone to try the bistro for a lunch, the service was very fast and friendly and the eating was amazing and very full. I was very surprised at the prices for drinks for a top hotel that were very reasonable. we had a table that was booked as a gift for the set menu, so will go back to find out what other meals are available to try.

This was a meal for my mother 's 74th birthday and the staff could not have been friendlier or more helpful. They gave us a few nice touches like a 'happy birthday ' plate with chocolate writing and truffles, brought the cake with candles lit, and sang happy birthday (even including the chef and generally made a fuss of us and of her : Will definitely be back and recommend the Bistro to friends and colleagues.

On arrival one receptionist at desk taking bookings on computer/telephone, long wait, didn 't feel at all welcomed. Food good. Service at table good but not attentive after food was served. At times no staff in Bistro at all. Coffee in drawing room good but lack of staff presence and warmth. Room lacks atmosphere and is full. No one to show us how to get to drawing room. Whole experience lacked warmth. Lack of ambience throughout. Been before and had a better experience but on Saturday 's experience I would think twice before returning. Ver carta
