"The Balduinkeller belongs next to the Magdalenkapelle and the Gasthof zum Ochsen, both in the immediate vicinity, among the most beautiful and rustic restaurants in St. Wendel. The restaurant is located in a historic building from the middle of the 18th century. Century. Century. A tour through the restaurant leads you a few centuries back to the time of the name of the restaurant, the Trier Archbishop Balduin of Luxenburg (1285 – 1354). rupture stone wall, partly rough plastered walls, which the St. Wendeler painter Klaus Riefer painted beautifully. The ambience, as I have already described, can hardly be surpassed by attention to detail and originality. Food The well-sorted menu includes soups, salads, toasts, cold dishes and steaks also classic Saarland kitchens such as filled with bacon cream sauce and sour wort or Lyoner – panties with roast potatoes. Today I chose the Rumpsteak with herbal butter, frits and salad at 16,90€. Add a mineral water to 1,60€ and a Sauvignon blanc 0,2l to 4,50€ and as Verdauerli a Malteser Aquavit to 2,50€. All ingredients were fresh and of perfect quality. The added salad was somewhat sweet, but the steak was perfectly roasted on the point medium, juicy, tender and very tasty. Good 4 stars for the kitchen. Service not always satisfactory, especially if the place is well visited, you must wait for food and drinks for a disproportionately long time. Conclusion: very good grounded cuisine in rustic, stylish ambience. But for larger groups my recommendation: "Reserve a table and above all eat something"."

I was professionally a day in st. wendel and decided to return in this restaurant after a walk through the city. what attracted me was the atmosphere of an old cave: the tables are not so many and they are distributed in the different spaces of the cave. I ordered a plank soup that was good and a typical dish that is a very, very big sausage with kartoffels. ok for a quick dinner at a typical place without claims.

I was a day in St. Wendel for my job and, after a walk in the centre of the town, I decided to stop in this restaurant. What attracted me was the atmosphere as an old cave: the tables are not so many, and they...are allocated in the different rooms obtained in the cave I ordered a onion soup which was good and a typical dish that is a very very big sausage with potatoes. Ok for a quick dinner in a typical place without pretensions.

eating is better than the average German kitchen with seasonal specialties, the restaurant is in a "medium cellar" and the ambiente is incredible. the place has a very family-run atmosphere, and if they are a guest they are treated like a family member. prices are reasonable compared to some other restaurants in the environment. this is my starting point when I have guests from outside and we want to take them to the city. in the summer there are several tables outside to enjoy the weather and watch people.

I'm so glad we took a chance at this place. it looks as if all reviews were taken before the new owner in november 2016. I am always looking for new places in our opposite and was pleased that this restaurant has become even better than expected. the ambiente is wonderful. there is a larger main area with a bar, which is perfectly decorated, and several smaller areas that sneak backwards if they are interested in a more intimate eating. the wine cellar is 500 years old, so much history. for dinner there was the baked ham cheese, which was light and fluffy with perfect spice. I had the steak and my man had the lamb that both were perfectly prepared. we ended up with a crème brûlée with a ball...

"Rather, we wanted to escape primarily corrosive and extremely annoying Baularm in our near environment for some time. For almost four weeks, an apartment has been renovated and refurbished among us. The concrete ceilings between the apartments contribute to the fact that the craftsmanship sounds from the volume as if our own bathroom was torn out. with the Sankt Wendeler Felsenmühle, she had not only set the escape destination, but also ordered a table there for 13:30. Unfortunately, it then looked so at the bottom that we were not spared even when eating in the rock mill by loudly strong craftsmen. In the outskirts of the mill, a Rüttler and a front loader did everything in their power to spare us the stay and lunch as thoroughly as possible. I think that the sound level caused by the esteemed GG colleague Petra IO in her rock mills report would have been better than the construction site noise due to high levels of guests; The ambience of the various guest rooms ranges from original to industrial design; we had a table in the original area and I forgive three and a half stars. A structural update could for me be the wet area for men; it was clean, but it was also quite inhabited. According to my treasure, the wet area ladies have also been clean. Service: First of all a lady looked after us: not excessively friendly, not excessively flotted, not excessively attentive and not excessively familiar with the contents of the menus; overall rather indifferent. From the moment she was sitting in front of the tress, the situation improved. A younger Asian looking man took over; the service thought was much more familiar, which was of course pleased to us as guests. We had more attention and also had the opportunity to talk briefly with him several times. Two stars for the lady and four stars for the Lord in the field of service together give three stars (2 4 6:2 3 . As I have heard from comments, this formula is not correct; how about 2 4 6 instead and this result divided by 2? Eating and drinking: We had already informed ourselves at home via Internet and the Rock Mill HP about what kitchen and cellar offer. My treasure had even chosen a dish: the potato soup with cherry pancakes. for that we were one day too early. It would have been the morning meal; dasa today were fillings with bacon cream sauce and sauerkraut for EUR 9,50. So something else had to be done, both we ordered the beef broth with beef and Julienne vegetables for EUR 5,40 each. Madame took the Rumpsteak Madagascar with Pommes Frites (EUR 22,90 ; I chose the devil medallions; three pork fillet medallions doubled with chilibacon in pikanter sauce with Pommes frites for EUR 16,90. When Dessert had ordered my most beloved Crême Brûlée; This was no longer possible according to the kitchen (for whatever reasons, Pannacotta was offered with fruits at the price of EUR 6.90. This was accepted and I took a Williams Gold (2cl EUR 3.50 as a dessert. We drank a swollen mineral water (EUR 2.40 and a Franciscan wheat from the barrel (EUR 0.5l 4.40). Among the few open wines I had unfortunately not found that for mch passing; a pity. We were very happy both with the soup and with the main dishes. My wife had ordered the Rumpsteak medium; it came medium rare, which was not a leg break. The meat quality was excellent, the steak was very well cut and the pommes were very nice crispy. There was nothing to complain about my diabolical medallions; they were still beautiful pink inside. The sauce announced as a picant was witty pikant; I would have been happy if I had not only a strip of Chilibacon but one per medallion, i.e. a total of three on the plate. I was happy with the Pannacotta, and I was happy with the Williams Gold. Conclusion: The stay in the rock mill would have liked us even better without the building site noises! It's good to see you again."

"General: As every year, I met 7 colleagues on the Christmas market in St. Wendel. Christmas market in St. Wendel, i.e. also high-level business in all restaurants and unfortunately you cannot book tables this week in the restaurants of the city center, so I got a cancellation in the inn to Ochsen, in the Manin and also in the Café Journal. So I was glad to book a table in the “Syrtaki” right in front of the Christmas market Rudder. It was my first visit to Syrtaki. The Deligia family spoils its guests in the premises of the former Portofino restaurant in Kelsweilerstrasse with Greek specialities and promises authentic cuisine with Greek ingredients. Not much, new curtains, a new color in warm earth colours, the seating was largely taken over by the predecessor, everything looks like a little dusty in Portofino, but we felt comfortable, not least because of the friendly service in Syrtaki. We were operated by a beautiful Lord; the almost familiar family approach with the guests like – this is how to create regularity. The menu is very extensive, but still manageable, divided into soups, appetizers, salads, grilled pork, beef, poultry and lamb, baked dishes, but also an appealing selection of fish dishes. In addition, there is a regular lunch with prices between €6.50 for e.g. beef liver with roasted onions, fries and salads or €8.80 for seaweed fillet with butter rice, garlic cream and salad. Whoever has the choice has the torment. Like the menu, the drink card has a lot to offer. On the well-sorted wine map you will find wines from different regions of Greece like a white agioritikos from the monk community of Athos. As always, my choice fell on the wonderfully resinous Retsina 0.2l to 3.40 €, simply grilled. Pig fillets and pig fillets were ordered. Gyros in spicy sauce and baked with cheese, pepper steak, red bark with garlic cream, Piperia Florinis with feta, grilled peperoni and especially praised the liver pan, beef liver in metaxas sauce, with fresh herbs, potato slices and salad. My companions were very happy with their choice. I chose the “Helena Plate”, consisting of Gyros, 1 Suvlaki, 1 lamb with rice, Zaziki and salad at 14,80 €. With the first drinks came an ouzo in front of the house, a good, almost mild spoon and no spicy plaster. Then the side salads, a spicy seasoned mixture of fresh leaf salads, white and carrot rays, olive cucumber and tomato slices came. Very good. As already said, my companions were very satisfied. My Helena Teller was also a good choice. All ingredients were of good quality, the cook understands his craft; the rice was nicely loose, the Zaziki for diving was not to garlic and freshly creamy, the Suvlaki consisted of 3 small lean pigs steaks, which were perfectly diced like the piece of lambs and were beautifully tender and juicy on the point, as well as the abundant food has tasted. Bill € 156.20 for 8 people, this is cheap. I would like to recommend the Syrtaki. Conclusion: Greek cuisine authentic, solid, good and cheap."
