"We went with our son Paul (who lives in this place mainly takeaways every week and it didn’t disappoint us! Fantastic lovely staff including the chef owner Abdus Shahid.. very attentive from start to finish with fantastic tasty food! My favorite is Chicken La Mirch which is a hot and sweet dish full of flavour plus the only restaurant I know that cooks this fantastic dish! Every dish we ordered was top quality and very fresh ingredients including the poppadoms and the fresh trays of mint sauce etc! The medium house wine is very good quality .. the only disappointment is I don’t live closer! Well done and Thank you for a lovely evening."

"Ancient pub in an historic building at the centre of a quiet village. The Sunday lunch we had was excellent my trad beef, the SO's nut roast and our companion's fish chips were all top notch. Everything on my plate which included a delicious onion marmalade was first class. A small menu of well judged dishes which changes, we were told, monthly. A very good range of beer on tap and you could see, from the number of locals dropping in for a pint, that the pub is well used by the community. Added to my list of nearby pubs to drop along to. Vegetarian options: Very good carrot and nut roast. Excellent fish chips"

"I enjoyed a lovely three-course meal that was beautifully presented – truly a work of art! We also had two cocktails for £12, along with a glass of house wine and coffee. After including an optional tip, my total came to £40, which I found very reasonable given today’s economic climate. While the menu isn’t extensive, I prefer a focused selection done exceptionally well over an overwhelming variety with mediocre execution. I’m becoming a regular visitor!"

"a beautiful little café in lavenham, children really wanted a ice, and I and the woman really wanted a hot drink. on the ground floor they can take ice and sweets cakes up there are sitting opportunities if they want to take it a little more relaxed. there was no one in the café section when we left, that's just as good as an old building be a little tight when a few people in there! children loved their ice creams, one have a few different chocolates (chocolate of chocolate and one of the pots of mint chocolate and the other had a random combination (cop of cola cube and a pot of orange. it is fair to say that the orange was a big hit, with both wanting it at the end (more than the chocolate to my surprise! I've got a few tassen tee out of the pot I had, so was nice and refreshed from the time to go. great place if its not too busy, but note that it is an old place so that room is a bit tight!"

"We were quite disappointed with this restaurant considering it had been recommended to us. I booked early in the day, but we were seated out the back which lacked atmosphere and was a bit cold. The front was much cosier and had a log fire. The food was average and lacked flavour. The garlic and chilli prawns seemed to have no chilli. All 5 dishes we chose came out at once which meant some became cold. My partner wanted dessert, but we didn’t see any wait staff once our first meals were delivered. "I have eaten here regularly for the past few years. The food is always excellent. The service is very hit and miss. Don’t like the compulsory 12.5% service charge. Would be happy to pay if the service was better. The landlord keeps excellent real ale, always in good condition. They have recently changed the furniture in the bar and restaurant area. It was too bulky, and was like an obstacle course trying to get through the restaurant. We were seated just in front of the door to the kitchen. I had to move the angle of the table, otherwise it would have been impossible for the staff to get past. The older furniture that they had previously, suited the age and style of the building far better."
