"Sestante is a truly excellent restaurant and a great find. It is on our list for a definite return visit next time we are in Venice (next year). It has an excellent location, just a few yards along the Calle San Zaccaria that runs at right angles to the Riva Degli Schiavoni and three minutes east from St Marks Square. It is easy to find and you won't be wandering around the back streets, Google maps in hand trying to locate it. It isn't a large restaurant with perhaps about twenty covers and a neat bar area. The decor is chic and modern; the tables are set well apart and the seating is comfortable. The toilets are clean and modern and the place generally has the air of being run by people who care. We went for dinner without having looked at reviews. The food was outstanding and original. Who knew that smoked aubergine marinaded in beetroot could be a thing? We took advice from the sommelier as to choice of wine and that proved to be a wise decision : it was a perfect pairing with our meal. A small number of wines is available by the glass. The wine list is quite extensive with prices to match. That said there is a good selection of wine at around 30 40 Euros per bottle. The menu has an undoubted seafood bias but you can checkout what is on offer by visiting the menu on their website. It is all as delicious as it is beautifully presented. This is fine dining at fair and reasonable price. Reservation is advised. The staff were attentive, knowledgeable about both the food ingredients/preparation and the wine, efficient and delightful to chat with (they both spoke excellent English). It isn't often one finds great food, great staff and great premises all in the same deal! Such was our unmitigated enjoyment of the dining experience that we booked lunch for two days later. The lunch experience was equally enjoyable. What stood out on both visits was the feeling that the staff wanted to ensure that you get maximum satisfaction and enjoyment from your dining experience."

excellent quality restaurant both for the preparation of dishes, the ingredients used and the impeccable service; as a result it is a little more expensive than the tourist proposals of the surroundings but surely it is worth it

The food, service and wine was exceptional definitely the best meal we ate in Italy. We had the tasting menu with pairing wine and we couldn’t fault a thing. The tasting menu was seafood focused which we loved Everything was prepared was beautiful and delicious. I highly recommend the staff were very attentive and friendly. 5 stars!!

Menu is not very wide but offers different choices. I discovered new tastes and combinations. Very professional, polite and great service. I am very satisfied with visit and felt welcomed. Interior quite minimalistic but cozy. Good wine list. After some quite traditional meals during stay in Venice, this was modern and fresh experience.
