I know what I’m saying because we tried several times in different places in Spain like the famous paella valenciana in Valencia district ; It was always too salty. Our first dining experience in Tenerife and we now know that this was the low point. The bread with mojo was good, the potatoes and croquettes not special, but ok. But then came the over-fried shrimps in black garlic and the anchovies, with a fried insect in between. Unfortunately our appetite was spoiled. The staff kindly offered apologies, free coffee and snaps and we did not charge for the dish. But it was still a letdown and a bad start to the holiday.
