"I have dined at this restaurant many times in the past year and have always been impressed with the quality of the food and presentation. The smoked salmon and cream cheese sandwich is a must-try. The cream tea is the best I have had in a long time, with plenty of clotted cream and local jam served with two warmed scones that are perfectly cooked and not microwaved. The hot chocolate is exceptional, made with ground Belgian chocolate and customizable with a mixture of dark, milk, and white chocolate. The restaurant is dog-friendly and welcoming to those with muddy boots, making it a great stop after a walk on the trails. The cozy sofa area is decorated with cushions made from Origin Coffee sacks, and there is a great variety of coffees available, including lattes and cappuccinos that are perfect. The atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming, making it a perfect place to start or end your day. The staff are friendly and attentive, making you feel right at home. The restaurant can get busy, especially if the tree surfers are in town, but it is a popular venue for a reason."

Definitely ask for Jake's very special hot chocolate. You need a walk before and probably one after but worth it!! Recomended.

We decided to eat at the Beech cafe as we had booked for my son and husband to do the Treesurfers junior course which is right next to this cafe.

The coffee, pastries, and homemade cake at this restaurant are fantastic. The staff is very friendly as well. It's worth a visit even if you're not planning to go tree surfing. Ver carta

Very pleasant little, friendly cafe at the start or/and end of the Tamar Trails. Reasonably priced food and drinks. Very family friendly. Might get congested if really busy. You can relax and take your mind of the selfish b.. horseriders who enjoy blocking the carpark with their horseboxes.

Can't believe we haven't been here before. Great coffee and food and very warm welcome from one and all. If you're going to the Tamar Trails it's a must! Even if you're not take the trip from Tavistock or turn off the road to Cornwall via Gunnislake well worth going out of your way for. It's open all year great looking home made grub and fabulous coffee.

This is a cafe with good food in a multi-purpose activity centre building, open weekends from mid February and later during school holidays. It is misleading to see it listed under Plymouth because it is in the village area called Gulworthy at this operation called Tamar Trails. It ought to be relisted along with the other Gulworthy business, food and things to do entries under Tavistock. Ver carta

Situated within the entrance to Tamar Trails is this little gem of a cute and cosy cafe where you can refuel before, after or during your activities at the site or of course just call in ! Plenty of seating both inside and out where you can sit and enjoy a cream tea, toastie or delicious home baked cakes washed down with a proper barista coffee, hot chocolate, tea in a tea pot or cold drinks. I had a cappuccino and a cream tea and it was really delicious and helped me recover from Archery, Tree Surfing and the Big Zip. If you wish to keep in contact with the outside world there is free Wi Fi which works well . Recommended.

After an exciting day of treetop adventures or a leisurely stroll along the Tamar Trails, my wife and I found ourselves at the Beech Cafe, a delightful spot to relax and refuel. While we may be past our zip-lining days, the trails offer a variety of activities for all ages to enjoy. The cafe greeted us with a selection of savory and sweet treats, including soup, sandwiches, pasties, and scrumptious cakes, as well as a comforting cup of coffee. For those interested in the area's mining history, there was a fascinating display of pictures and videos to explore. We recommend stopping by the cafe before embarking on a walk to familiarize yourself with the area and pick up a map for your journey.

"Gidleigh Park is a country house located in a wooden wally in Devon. It is quite hard to reach the place on a very narrow road, which is very beautiful, but apparently during the winter larger cars can’t even get there. Gidleigh Park houses a two-Michelin star restaurant with Michael Caines as the main chef (the restaurant was recently voted number 1 restaurant in the UK by the Harden’s Sunday Times Food List 2014). Gidleigh Park also has bedrooms (apparently all individual in style and design) and you can stay there for the night and then wonder in the gardens of the estate, which I saw some people doing when I was there. I was visiting Devon and my boyfriend chose Gidleigh Park for lunch on a Sunday and we took the long and narrow road to Gidleigh Park. The inside of the house was very old and had a lot of charm. It had eclectic art and antiques and different style rooms, the lounge had different tables, chairs and the bar was done up in a completely different style. Gidleigh Park showcased British charm and elegance. You could chose to have their signature sample menu for £140/ person, but instead we went for the much cheaper version, their lunch set menu for £44/ person for 3 courses (you could also have 4 courses for £57). Also note choosing dishes a la carte would set you back £115, so the lunch menu seems like the cheapest way how to enjoy Gidleigh Park. We did not have any wine, but apparently thy have an amazing wine cellar. The three course lunch menu included a small appetizer, a starter and a main course and you could choose from one of the 3 starters and one of the 3 main courses. Our appetizer was “goat’s cheese foam with beetroot jelly, candied walnuts and granny smith apple”, but as my boyfriend does not like goats’ cheese he had a tuna tartar as his appetizer which actually looked better than my appetizer. I was not to"
