"Since arriving on Earth I have been sampling the so called noodles at a variety of locations across this planets seven continents. The noodles at this establishment just off of the main high street in Newbury, European continent really tickled my taste buds and gave me a little tingling sensation all over. They might just be the best noodles on Earth, although I must add that I am yet to visit Antarctica. I think I have discovered the ultimate dish to return to my star system with. The drink known as tea is also good here, it comes with funny little balls in it."

"Just had the most delicious lunch at the Flowerpot cafe. There are lots of outside tables with parasols, but do ask if there isn’t one free, as they have spare ones inside that they can bring out. I had a baked potato with tuna and...cheese, which came with lots of lovely salad. Service was quick and extremely friendly. I took a piece of chocolate cake home with me, which was fabulous and homemade (of course There is nowhere else in Newbury as good as this."

"We had a lovely dining experience and thoroughly enjoyed all the appetizers. I ordered the burrata, which I could have easily shared. My partner went for the two large speck-wrapped little pigs, while our son had the garlic flatbread, which was fresh and delicious. My partner and I shared the Santa Stack burger, which was fantastic. Our son opted for the kinderburger. The service was excellent, provided by a charming gentleman with shoulder-length hair."

"I visited on Sunday to go for a bottomless brunch with some friends, on arrival we were seated and given menus and the waitress told us they had some shortages due to a delivery not coming in. However, when saying what they were out of, sausages avocado and waffles, it wiped out a-lot of the dishes on the already limited menu for bottomless brunch. items such as sausages and avocado which when your one of the first customers in the restaurant on a Sunday having pre-booked as-well seems a bit unorganised in my opinion especially as their are 3 supermarkets in walking distance. i wouldn't normally make a fuss about this sort of thing especially working in hospitality myself but i have been to the S&L 3 times now and every time they seem to not have something quite important. i went a few months ago with my boyfriend and they didn't have most of the cocktails offered on the menu which was very disappointing. and when our food came out they didn't have any ketchup or mayonnaise. however, on all occasions visiting the staff have been very friendly and attentive in offering a round of drinks whenever our glasses looked empty and the food we have received has been lovely and been delicious. It just seems as though there is a management issue when it comes to ordering stock."

"Is there a new chef? Having visited the Fox and Hounds on quite a few occasions and always enjoyed super meals, written reviews and recommended the place to numerous friends particularly for the superb Sunday roasts, today was very disappointing. The beef which normally doesn’t need a knife to cut it as it is so tender it falls apart with just a fork was tough and chewy and the roast potatoes which are usually great looked and tasted as if they had been previously cooked and then warmed up!? Even the red cabbage wasn’t as nice as usual. As we were on the early sitting we certainly expected freshly roasted potatoes. On previous visits our plates have been completely empty when returned to the kitchen, today the potatoes found their way back to the kitchen and the dogs were delighted when we got home with left over beef for them. What happened Fox and Hounds? Something has changed."
