"Last Sunday we booked a table for people to dine for Sunday lunch. When we got there at we was informed that most the meals were sold out but we were able to order starters of the Sunday lunch menu and only the...chicken was available to order. We rebooked to give it another try for the following week thinking it was just teething issues due to reopening shortly after covid. We arrived again today for our Sunday lunch and as soon as we sat down a rude waitress came to our table snatched the menu from my daughters hand and said don’t bother looking at that we don’t have any Sunday lunches left. So we had the choice of choosing fish or lasagne no starters available. It is absolutely disgraceful how customers are treated we had booked in for lunch twice and both experiences were terrible I would recommend to others not to go there . We was spoken to like dirt as soon as we sat at the table and even when we left shortly after no one seemed bothered staff look as tho they don’t want to be there and don’t care about custom or how they speak to people. Very disappointing experience will not recommend to anyone about this place. Luckily we managed to get in the harvester pub which I must say was a cut above the bell inn, polite and welcoming staff with food available for customers even at last minute. If I could Pick 0 stars I Would"

This is a run of the mill pubby foody type place. The menu is rather limited and presumably its all boil in the bag/microwave food. Other than that, its a nice atmosphere and a nice drinking spot with a nice space outside for dining and...drinking.

So we booked a table for for Waited a while to be served. Then told we couldn't use the app. It wasn't working for us a very abrupt lady wws quite rude and said I'll send someone over. We sat for half an...hour waiting then asked a young lad. Who's name was Reagan was extremely helpful and served up straight away. I do feel they need to be more customer friendly. Food as always was nice apart from we went to order puds and was told the kitchen was closed they should of told us this when talking away our food...

We took our daughter and grandsons to breakfast with Santa and had a wonderful time. The breakfast was delicious. The bar staff were great and Santa and his helpers were fabulous. The children were given reindeer antlers and took part in a hunt the elves...game and after meeting Santa he hosted two games of pass the parcel. The children all received a lovely selection box and the winners of pass the parcel had a nice gift too. They were also given sweets (after breakfast of course Everyone had a great time and it was a lovely atmosphere. We will definitely go again. Ver carta

Was sitting for a meal outside which was quite poor quality of food and presentation. After finishing the food sat outside watching the horse and carts that had pulled up The manager proceeded to force a shovel infront of the riders face who was sitting...down enjoying a beer with his group and told him too “clean his sh*t up” quote on quote If the food wasn’t bad enough the atmosphere certainly turned sour We left and carried on up to the longhorn after leaving our food at the bell and ate at the longhorn where we enjoyed a lovely meal and a much better atmosphere!

What a fantastic meal we had yesterday. Decided to go at pm (between normal busier times), and whilst still with a number of customers eating and drinking, it was lovely to feel we had space around us. We chose from the two course Festive...fayre menu; prawn cocktail and turkey. It was fantastic. Good amount of very tasty and freshly cooked food. As a pub chain establishment (Ember Taverns) and at this time of year (Christmas and Covid), I had expected an average meal but this far enough exceeded my expectations. We had visited a few weeks beforehand, and had also had a fabulous meal (mixed grill then). In summary the cook(s), waiting staff, food and its quality are all spot on. Excellent ex...

"This was our first visit. I have to remind myself that this is a training environment for students but there should be someone in charge, who is identifiable to direct the students on how to present a menu and how to place a dish in front of customers. However, four courses for £35, amuse bouche counted for one course. Amouse bouche lacked any seasoning, orzo starter, well cooked but again lacked seasoning. My wife had fish, Coley, which was nice. I had chicken breast on a bed of curry sauce with hassleback potatoes. My whole dish was luke warm at best, the curry sauce was overpowering, and the hassleback potatoes were not crispy. The chicken was lovely and moist and I ordered a side of triple cooked chips which were super hot, expensive at £4, I only wish the rest of my dish was that hot. I had cheese and biscuits which consisted of Brie, blue cheese and cheddar together with chutney. My wife had Pain Perdue which was well presented and tasty. The restaurant is more like a cafe, not cosy, so don't choose it if you want a romantic evening. Overall would I go again? probably not. If you are ever near the Lake district try to book a table in the restaurant at Kendal College. On a final note; there is parking on an evening next to the college. Drive up to the barrier and press the call button, security will let you in. The barrier opens automatically on exit."
