"This was a last minute decision because of the 10 p.m. curfew in Munich, but the moment when I went into this inconvenient hole-in wall and hit the friendly owner/cook who spoke Vietnamese, I knew that my best bet was to target the Southeast Asian dishes. My wife and I ordered the Sate crispy duck with vegetables and 2 the Bun Bo (lemones grass beef with vermicelli noodles, fresh vegetables / herbs and pickles. I would never have seen that Vietnamese sate this way (translated as ✔ or “sand tea”; an influence of South China in SE Asia, but that (local? innovation seemed exciting. This was DELICIOUS – some of the best I had during the trip in Europe. The bread was prepared even better than my Vietnamese grandmother who cooked it! The crispy duck, cooked on the good-done side, beautifully paired with the peanut/shallot flavors of the sate curry. I was pleasantly amazed. I noticed that many of the more critical comments are directed to the Japanese inspired dishes... but I would like to encourage future mosquitoes to order from Vietnamese specialties and Southeast Asian dishes: you can get their flavors and spices from a legacy of familiarity and finesse. Bravo."
