Today I would like to give a special recommendation for a relaxing holiday. This hotel where I was recently allowed to stay at a meeting is absolutely recommended if you combine the training with relaxation and wellness or just want to spend a wellness holiday. If you prefer wellness, I recommend booking a room in Haus Werdenfels of the hotel complex as the wellness area is located in the basement of this annex, which is connected to the main building. But let me go a little bit. The holiday feeling begins when you finally come from Munich towards Garmisch Partenkirchen on the A 95 motorway. The alpine landscape to which you go directly is great and every kilometre approaches Garmisch Partenkirchen opens up new views. Then follow the Garmisch exit and cross the town of Garmisch, where Grainau was always well signposted, until it leaves behind the Garmisch exit to Grainau. In Grainau follow the signs of Hammersbach, follow the main road and suddenly you stand in front of this very beautiful building built in alpine style. On the opposite side of the street there are two more buildings that are also part of the hotel. I was housed in the Haus der Werdenfels, which is connected to the main building by an underground corridor. In the basement of the Haus Werdenfels there is also the wellness area of the hotel with a swimming pool, whose water is heated to about 30 degrees Celsius and a beautiful sauna area with several saunas, steam bath etc. But also applications can be obtained, such as massages. But first the check-in was said: The reception is very warm and the check-in is uncomplicated as it is important for the hospitality in this house at all. The entire staff started over the reception, the roommates, the service in the restaurant as well as in the wellness area is very friendly, careful and helpful, so feel welcome and at home from the first minute. The hotel is very cozy, but not too rustic in Alpine farmhouse style. The room and the bathroom are modern and comfortable and very clean, although I always have my reservations about carpet in hotel rooms. In the room there is a double bed, a sofa and a desk. The room also has a flat-screen TV. A bottle of mineral water is available for free and snacks like Mars, knights sports chocolate, but you have to pay. The room has a large furnished balcony. Those who feel disturbed by the noise of the neighbouring Wildbach should book a room on the side. So in the first night I made a lot of trouble with this unknown sound. The bathroom was clean and sufficiently large. A hairdryer is also provided. A basket with sauna towels was ready. Can you imagine what I did first after 5 6 hours of flight over the highway? Nix as in the wellness area. So shower, what is covered, in the elevator, in the basement, and I'm already in front of the entrance to the wellness area. The price of 7 € without time limit is moderate. The sauna closes at 9 pm and the indoor swimming pool at 10:00 am. The calm and warmth is pleasant. there was not too much operation. In a Mediterranean furnished conservatory you can have a drink between there is nothing about a soft wheat beer; beautiful isotonic!!!! Zisch! Since photography is prohibited in a textile room by itself, I refer the interested reader to the homepage of the hotel, where the sauna pool and wellness area is also presented. So now enough wellness and relaxing to work. The hall for our meeting in the gallery above the reception was also very pleasant, especially from the indoor climate. Drinks have been provided with sufficient care, as well as break snacks. On two coffee machines like Cappucino, Latte Macchiato or Wiener Melange you can prepare delicious drinks, e.g. in the lounge there is a free internet site with PC and screen as well as free W Lan, which has a reach to the beer garden terrace in front of the house. Also in the room you can use W Lan, which however costs 2,00 € per half hour, which I find very expensive. I then took a quiet corner in the lounge or the terrace. Vouchers with the password are received at the reception. We took meals in the dining room. The drinks ordered in the service were served quickly. The very tasty dishes can be combined on a buffet with several types of meat, vegetables and side dishes. There was also a salad and dessert buffet. The breakfast buffet was also very rich and the rolls crispy and tasty. Please, if I didn't photograph this now. But I want to save you the weight gain from the search; . In the evening there was again a rich buffet and so a small movement in the leisure was said: The hotel is ideal for excursions to the nearby and other surroundings, especially as a railway station is just a few meters from the hotel. An excursion to the Zugspitze is however with approx. 36 € The person is quite expensive, especially because a panoramic view is not guaranteed, depending on the weather that can change quickly. The Eibsee is also a nearby excursion destination, which is also accessible from the Zugspitzbahn. Right next to the hotel there is a small chapel and access to the Hellntal valley, which follows after about an hour walk to the Höllentaler Gorge. Until the gorge I unfortunately did not come because of acute back pain and thunderstorm tendency, but for a quiet walk it was enough: in the evening we relaxed in the bar in the cellar with well maintained drinks. The cocktails were excellent!!! Hotel Haus Hammersbach is located below Waxenstein. Since the stay at a professional meeting was free for me, I cannot say much at the prices except that a look at the outlying menu promised an average price level. On the homepage you can find up-to-date information on the room prices as well as on savings offers and special arrangements. A look at this also shows an average price level, with the price performance rate being absolutely consistent. We are happy to spend some relaxing holiday days here and then there is an update and other reports from the Werdenfelser Land. The hotel is a personal favorite of me! Update May 2016 After four years back here. the Hotel Haus Hammersbach was taken over and renamed by the Sentido Group. Otherwise nothing has changed seriously. We found the usual kindness and comfort and cleanliness. The service in the restaurant area is also very attentive, friendly and fast. The use of the sauna area is calculated for hotel guests only with € 5 instead of € 7 per day. The use of the indoor pool in which it is comfortably warm is free. Both are located in the basement area of the hotel, but are unfortunately not accessible. Both in the Haus Werdenfels there are two steps to overcome and the main building does not go through the connecting channel without overcoming a staircase, even if there are elevators. Barrier-free is most likely the main house where I can not make any statement about the rooms themselves. The interested person should contact the hotel by phone. Prices vary according to room type. Here you should look at the homepage to find the individually approved offer. There was a little scratch this time. The hot dishes at the buffet were unfortunately only lukewarm as it was presented to us openly, as this can always be associated with certain health risks, even if they are freshly prepared. I pointed to the reception, but I don't know if the kitchen has responded. I think it's better to heat up the heaters or cover the dishes. Instead of full board or half board, I would therefore recommend accommodation with breakfast and otherwise dine a la carte. Then you're more unbound. But since everything else is very harmonious, it remains at 5 stars and the favorite."

"Today uninhabited short holiday notes in advance... Ms. Obacht!, the untiring spearhead of the Garmischer Gastrokritik, had for this purpose equipped us with vouchers for the newly renovated Eckbauer Bahn, which leads from the Olympic ski stadium to the mountain of the same name, 1237 meters high. These vouchers should also include coffee and cakes in the Olympic House, a popular cafe restaurant right on the iconic jumping hills, and I will pay tribute to the delicious apple strudel swallowed on this occasion in my own small review. In this, I will also like to house a few impressions from the Eckbauer descent, today as a small taste a small panorama of Wamberg is to be reached, one of Germany's highest-ranking church villages that we crossed on this occasion.
