"we eat 3 meals here in 2 days. a French owner who runs an Italian restaurant in a hotel in the German part of Switzerland. the slender garnels were excellent, cooked until perfection with subtle oil garlic sauce. caprese was very good to know that the tomats were not in season. the chef likes to go on the balsamico in the dressur hard. the kalbsaliclopine was in lemon butter sauce with cream risotto. the risotto melted in my mouth, simple but satisfying. very well prepared, but the garnels have won. pasta for lunch was the one day perfectly cooked with a light bun in oil coating. wee choices were ok (Spanish and Portuguese? very friendly owner who spoke French but not English. the people speak English. ."

"We have been ordering from Burgeramt on and off for 5 years. Always in the same TOP quality since the first time! Today we discovered again that all other burger suppliers in our region cannot keep up with Burgeramt. Telephone contact is always very friendly. My favorite is definitely the Amtburger and Rösti Fries. Everything homemade and super tasty. It's just a shame that you can't order over lunch on the weekend. Otherwise absolutely great, gladly again."

"We have reserved for 7 adults and 2 small children. Unfortunately there were no child seats available. We asked and, a little annoyed, the waitress brought us a children's chair. When the waitress asked if we already knew what we wanted, not everyone had decided yet. After a short while she walked past our table and said that we should order now, otherwise she would be stressed. Of course we knew what we wanted and ordered uncomplicated, salad and pizza. But I told her that we actually wanted to enjoy a relaxing evening with a delicious meal. We ordered another bottle of St. Saphorin, which apparently they only had warm, so we had to change the white wine. The salad came, unfortunately one was forgotten. Mixed salad for 11.50 never again is never worth it The pizzas reached our table. Unfortunately another one was forgotten Quality of the pizza is great The dessert was also very tasty and nothing went wrong with this course. The children were spoiled by the boss. Whether we will bring the next CHF 500 back to the Schmitte remains uncertain for us "

"Having left a previous review for the bar, I now want to comment on their restaurant. After eating in here around four times, I can say that the food is outstanding. I dont eat steak but my friends do and they said the meat was perfect, one even said it was the best he'd ever tried. Ive had their fish and chips and it is spot on, just as good as back in the UK. The highlight for me is their cottage pie, it is incredible and dare I say it, as good as the one I can make at home. Huge portions, delicious food, i am a very happy customer. Well done Porter House!!"

"Der Service war sehr freundlich und sehr gut. Die Vorspeisen waren gut. Leider hat man sich unter der Vorspeise, so wie in der Karte beschrieben, etwas anderes vorgestellt. Wir haben Riesencrevetten in Kräuter-Öl-Knoblauch-Marinade bestellt. Die waren wahrscheinlich auch mal so mariniert und dann in der Pfanne gebraten. Serviert wurden diese 4 Stück rund um einen grossen Salat. Gut war es zwar, aber man möchte dann doch was auf der Karte steht. Das Fleisch war sensationell und von bester Qualität. Wer hier bei den Preisen reklamiert, der weiss nicht, was Fleisch in dieser Qualität kostet. Und bitte nicht vergessen, das mit dem Preis nicht nur das Fleisch bezahlt werden muss, sondern auch Miete, Gehälter, Mobiliar etc. Wem das zu teuer ist, der soll doch bitte woanders hingehen, denn die Karte steht sogar im Internet, und man weiss was man zu welchen Preisen bekommt. Die Weinauswahl ist so gestaltet, dass jeder etwas findet und dies in verschiedenen Preisklassen. Auf Dessert sind sie nicht spezialisiert. Die Crema Catalana schmeckte nicht so, wie eine Crema Catalana schmecken sollte. Der Kellner kam, und fragte was nicht gut sei. Ohne zu diskutieren bekamen wir dann ein anderes Dessert. Und zum Schluss zu Rechnung noch einen Grappa. (Und zwar nicht die billige Variante)Alles in allem ist dies ein Lokal, wo man immer wieder gerne hingehen kann. Und wenn es in einem Restaurant Essen vom heissen Stein gibt, dann sollte auch für jeden klar sein, dass es da nicht nach Rosen duftet im Restaurant. Also einfach etwas anziehen, was man danach in die Waschmaschine gibt und gut ist."
