As a local resident, I frequently visit this restaurant because it is dog-friendly, clean, and offers good food at affordable prices. My only wish is that it was open on Mondays and Tuesdays, but I understand that the staff needs some time off.

Was in the area for my friends wedding/,60th birthday, staying at hotel St Pierre hotel up road, so we called in in here and it was lovely, had the Egg and Bacon on toast, perfect. If in area again would come back, would recommend to anyone if visiting Ver carta

This lovely café is a hidden gem, offering great value for families. The generous portions and tasty breakfast sandwiches were perfect. The owner was delightful and incredibly accommodating, making our experience even better. We will definitely be returning.

The cafe itself is so pristine you could eat your meal off the floor; the food is straightforward and well prepared. But what makes this place special is the atmosphere, and the exceptionally warm friendly staff. This hasn't been an easy year for anyone, but these guys were unfailingly cheerful and gave everyone a welcome.

This is a great cafe, I go regularly been local. Food, staff, cleanliness faultless, lovely experience. The one thing that could improve and prevent us trying elsewhere would be if the food was hot and not luke warm or cold beans sometimes. Warm not cold plates would help. The restaurant has a beautiful view, but I have visited many times and found the food and drinks to be overpriced and not very good. After waiting for a while, my order finally arrived: two eggs on toast and a coffee for £8, which I found expensive. My friend ordered the Steak Canadian and was disappointed by the quality; the meat looked like it came from a supermarket shelf and was grilled in a bun for £8, which was both expensive and terrible. Additionally, a bottle of water cost £1.40. The food took a long time to be served.

I wrote this review four years ago but yesterday checked it out again. Great reception, friendly staff and all the Covid safety features. Consistently good fried fish. My favourite is with mashed potatoes, veg and tartar sauce. Add a teapot and you are settled in for a feast. All the staff are friendly, courteous and ready to assist. Try the salads in summer. Hand carved ham served with full salad including egg. Quick snack? Try poached eggs on breadcake. Oh the filter coffee is good too. Then a walk around the dam gets you ready for afternoon tea!

We called at Beulay Cafe a month back, and what a lovely little place. Nestled opposite Newmillerdam, we bought two breakfast bap type meals, coffee and tea, and our dogs were treated to a sausage apiece at no extra charge. The owner is a lovely man, very friendly, happy to engage with his customers, and the food was lovely. Fresh bread, beautiful bacon, eggs and sausage. Even the coffee was pretty decent (I do enjoy a good quality coffee). All in all a positive experience, and of the eateries immediately around Newmillerdam, Beulay’s is the one I’d recommend.
