Absolutely awful. Staff are extremely rude and the atmosphere is shocking. This pub used to be great now it’s just terrible. The only good thing is the food. Won’t be returning

We went here for Christmas dinner. The party included my wife daughter and her partner and my grand daughters. I had soup Christmas dinner and pudding. The service was very friendly. My daughter is a fussy eater and her wishes were accommodated. This place is well worth another visit

I consider going out to a pub for dinner a treat. Unfortunately, the pub had issues on the evening we visited. We ordered food very basic salad and a starter and it never arrived. We asked multiple times no food. We had to leave without eating the manager was not available for the refund. I emailed. I fb msgd. I popped in. Eventually I received the refund after 3 weeks. No apologies. It used to be my favourite local but I haven’t gone back. Ver carta

We went here today for our Christmas lunch and there was 20 of us and the food was appalling and we did not even receive a Sorry or any kind of discount on our food. The staff were so rude, but Mason was ok! We had the roast and some had fish pie which was small portion and very dry,The potato’s were so burnt and shrivelled and unable to eat them, and the turkey was SO DRY. When we asked for new potato’s we were told there was not any non burnt ones we could have. We asked for more gravy as there was the tiniest bit on each plate and then they brought out a few more then was told no more gravy for our party. Advertised as Dog Friendly and brought Friends who came down for the weekend and my Little Cockapoo. I was advised by our Waiter if my dog keeps barking I will have to take her outside. It was poring down with rain and the reason she barked was because she was tormented by 2 little children and I did say this. Our Waiter made me feel unconfutable and not once did he smile or make me feel at ease. I was very stressed and will never go there again. Dogs bark no where did it say if your dog barks you have to leave your meal and sit out on the rain. By the way out little dog is still learning and she is only 17 months. The food was ok but I felt rushed and on edge. The dog did not actually bark...

Meeting friends here for Sunday lunch this afternoon, we 've all come away slightly disappointed by our choice. The Black Horse is immaculate, having clearly had a decent budget spent on interior decoration and furnishings, with a cherishing of its connections to nearby Pinewood the walls are festooned with black and white photos of famous film stars and directors who have been past customers. At the same time, the bathrooms are labelled stable boys and stable girls , playing on the obvious coach house traditions from a pub at a crossroads. All very nice, as were the lovely staff who greeted us as we arrived and brought us our food. But that 's where the problem lay. All of the niceties fail... Ver carta
