"We stayed here for one night while walking the Yoredale Way. Whilst the hosts were very friendly and accommodating, the place definitely needs some attention. The room was very small, and the window blinds were far too thin to exclude the light. The room directly overlooked the beer garden, which was quite noisy. We could hear the people next door, too, and the fan in our shower room made a grinding noise when it was operating. The television was very small, and didn't work properly. We were told that it was due to the poor signal, but the television in the bar downstairs worked perfectly. On the positive side, however, there was fresh milk in a little fridge in the room, and the breakfast was lovely. The staff were very friendly too. I understand that the owners took over the Dante Arms just before Covid hit, so I appreciate that there have been difficulties there, and I wish them well in the future"

We stayed here for a spontaneous night away. The room was perfect, the staff were really friendly and the breakfast was amazing! We 100% would love to stay again when we are next in the area!

We visited the dante arms this evening. What a welcoming place and the most dog friendly pub we have ever been to. Can’t recommend this place enough . 10/10 for service and the staff were exceptional . Thank you

I spent one night at this restaurant and found the rooms to be very comfortable with cozy beds. The breakfast offered a wide variety of buffet options as well as cooked dishes. If you have a smaller appetite, don't hesitate to ask for smaller portions.

I spent a lovely few days here and thoroughly enjoyed myself. The room was comfy and clean. Every one was so friendly and I extend that to the whole village as well as the pub. Fabulous breakfast… I recommend The Full Dante.. and watching the horses go past for exercise as I ate was a pure delight.

We stayed at this restaurant for the night during a business trip. We received a lovely and friendly welcome from the staff who were very helpful. The village is beautiful. The room was surprisingly quiet and had super comfy beds. The water pressure was excellent, making for a great shower and bath experience. The homecooked food was delicious, especially the chicken pie and chips. The taste and value were unbeatable. A new family has recently taken over and they are really making the place their own. There is even a real fire to cozy up to. We had a lovely stay and will definitely be back!

This is an amazing place to stay! We absolutely enjoyed it, especially the delicious fried bread breakfast with a variety of fruit, cereal, and yogurts to choose from. The staff were all very friendly and helpful, and the cozy log fire during breakfast on our last day was a wonderful touch. Our room had a perfect view overlooking the front of the Dante Arms, so we got to see the horses heading up to the gallops every morning. We would definitely stay here again as we had a fantastic experience. We were also fortunate to be there for steak night, which was incredibly tasty. Thank you to the Dante Arms team for making us feel so welcome.

We attended a family wedding and booked our accommodation for the night of the wedding. The bed and pillows were so comfortable, we didn't want to get up in the morning, however an amazing breakfast was waiting. There was a good selection of cereals, fresh fruit and yogurts, plus fruit juices. Then came a full English breakfast. Wow, it was so tasty, the sausages were local butcher sausages. The portions were very generous only our son in law managed to eat everything on this plate. Alison and Rachel had only gotten the keys a few days before our stay. They were so friendly and helpful. We would recommend this pub if you are looking for a village location in a beautiful village.

Absolutely brilliant. Me and my nearly 4 year old grandson stayed here as a pit stop for his little pre birthday adventure. Emma welcomed us and showed us to our room which was perfect for our needs. We were knackered after a day on a farm and ready for a freshen up and food. Although the Dante weren't doing food that evening we were welcomed to bring our chippy tea into the pub and happily given plates, cuttlery and sauces. More importantly to me, I was able to get a large wine to go with it. The peeps that came in for drinks that evening were also awesome and welcomed us with open arms. Made us feel part of the family. A beautful place with beautiful people. Way more than we expected and w...

"We had booked with booking.com . On arrival we were told that we didn't get breakfast included and that it would be £15 a head. We accepted this although thought was pretty steep for breakfast in a pub.The first morning we were given a menu clearly stating that breakfasts were included with all accommodation. I ordered poached eggs with smoked salmon and the other two ordered a full English breakfast which included homemade black pudding. The breakfasts arrived ,one of my poached eggs was runny, the other hard. The English breakfasts had no black pudding on the plates and when queried we were told that the deliveries hadn't arrived. Doesn't homemade imply made on or near the premises and as the owner states he is a butcher by trade I would expect he had made the black pudding. No alternatives were offered and presentation was distinctly lacking , with the baked beans poured over the other items. The next day I risked the full breakfast with black pudding which was lovely. But again the others had badly cooked poached eggs. We were offered no fruit juice, cereal or even toast and marmalade. On leaving we discovered the pub was unmanned , despite poor mobile signal. The owner turned up after 15 minutes. The bill was handed over, charging us for seven breakfasts when we had six, it was adjusted after he asked if one of us had had two breakfast one day? He served and cooked them so should know the answer to that. We were also then overcharged for nine coffee when three coffees and two teas had been ordered. Having had a family B and small hotel in York I advised him that standards were not what I was used to. I spoke to someone who had also visited recently and she stated a member of staff had charged them £15 per head for their similar breakfast where we were charged the menu price. Exceptionally poor menu, inaccurate advise saying breakfast included then charging us and probably the worst breakfast I have eaten in similar accommodation."
