Black Tiles - Carta

There was a lack of ambience and we were disappointed by the mushroom tagliatelle, which was priced at over £18 each. It was a Sunday evening and there was no atmosphere. Although this place was once a great spot, we would suggest skipping it.

Big group night out. Not impressed with the food. Various complaints from the table. The plates also didn't smell pleasant so I had to leave my dessert. Also no table service for drinks which is very inconvenient while the staff were idly standing by.

We celebrated my husband's 70th birthday with family and friends at this restaurant. The fork buffet was excellent and everyone was very impressed. We had booked the garden room which had private access to a heated terrace (optional) and a play area for two children. It was a really enjoyable time for everyone. Ver carta

A fantastic venue with a continental/Italian feel in its decor. They were able to accommodate a table of 8 with no notice and proceeded to present us with a perfectly cooked meal and wonderful courteous and professional service. There is an outside sheltered seating area heated by gas patio heaters......Great food , reasonably priced with a lovely atmosphere.

Went in a Saturday evening unfortunately no atmosphere as restaurant was quite empty. We used to come here all the time. The food was lovely we had pate, bread selection and halloumi. For main fish and chips, Cesar salad and sea bass Asian style, all beautiful fresh and presented. Staff were so helpful and friendly. Would be back soon.....just needs more people to give this a chance to get the atmosphere back again.

Mid week family meal. Really excellent food and great service. We are gradually working our way round all ipswich restaurants with our two children age 17 and 10. We ordered two pizzas, a cod and chips and a chicken caesar. The food was great quality and huge portions. Service was very quick and attentive. Went to pay and discovered the pizzas were buy one get one free on a weds so that was a nice surprise. Overall a really lovely meal and we will go back. Ver carta

We chose to go to Black Tiles to celebrate an 86th and 60th birthday with family. There were twelve of us and we arrived to find the garden room set out beautifully for a family meal. The staff were delightful and could not have been more helpful. Chole had helped us sort out all the pre orders and Ake (apologies for the spelling) looked after us throughout the meal. He remembered everyone's orders and made sure that we had a really lovely time. Thank you to al the staff.

My friends and I went to a Christmas disco and dinner event at this restaurant as a large group. I wasn't expecting much, but I was pleasantly surprised! The food was delicious and well-presented. I had the prawn cocktail, turkey roast, and chocolate brownie, and enjoyed every dish. My husband had steak and chips and was also impressed. Typically, the quality of food at large events during Christmas can suffer, but that was not the case here. Kudos to the Black Tiles team for a job well done.

A lovely time from start to finish. Our waiters were friendly, attentive and hard working. The starter I chose was the tempura prawns with sweet chilli dip. Very tasty and full of flavour. The roast pork, roast beef and burger meals myself and family had chosen, we ageed they were cooked to perfection and puddings and sauces to accompany the meats were homemade. The sticky toffee pudding with ice-cream and Vanilla and raspberry creme-brulee finished a delightful meal. A lovely atmosphere and a great Mother's day! Ver carta
