I think this is one of the best restaurants in the NEFood is always top class and deeply tasty with more than a nod to English cuisine.

Came in for lunch and had a roast basil and tomato soup, a pan fried salmon with a tomato, chorizo, and cannellini bean stew, and a small assortment of

We had a lovely meal here and all three courses were super delicious. The portions are quite big too. Service was very good and they asked if it was a special occasion beforehand. The atmosphere is lovely and the outside courtyard space is very beautiful at night as well.

Probably the best atmosphere I've experienced in any restaurant. The food was excellent. The grouse was absolutely delicious. The bar was so cool and comfortable I almost wished there was a long delay in seating us. They offer cooking classes upstairs in an equally cool setting.

the food service was excellent. angus treated us like family, we enjoyed talking about eating and the weeping staff were very good about the dishes and gave great recommendations to suitable weeping. Literally everyone was delicious. they have included all the needs, including limited mobility problems and nutritional requirements.

This came recommended by a local. The decor and atmosphere were great, and it felt like stepping back in time. Unfortunately, our booking was for 15 minutes before the kitchens closed, though we weren't aware of this until we arrived. So, it made the ordering experience feel a bit rushed as well as the service, which really detracted from the overall experience. Otherwise, the food was good and flavourful.

a beautiful restaurant that can be the oldest used dining room built in Britain. the building, the facility and the atmosphere were amazing. eating was okay, but nothing special. the black pudding sausage was more brownish and tough (sausage skin.) the service was amazing and the waiter couldn't do enough for us. the price-performance ratio was in order, but I'm sure they can get better elsewhere in the city. I would recommend going for the experience of the building.

Delicious food (pea and garlic risotto), fantastic service, and a really beautiful, listed building. The staff are super friendly. They took my friend (who was visiting from Germany) and I on a little historical tour of the building. If not for the rain, we probably wouldn’t have thought to go there, but as soon as we walked into the cozy pub with its beautiful woodwork and William Morris pillows, we were so glad we did. I look forward to dining there again when I next visit Newcastle.

beautiful old building and surroundings. the service was great and the price was very reasonable, but my meal could have been better. the duck breast starter was nice, but my fry-belt dinner was a bit disappointing. the whole meal could have been warmer, including the plate, although the circumcisions were delicious, my bark was overdue, I like my flesh pink and that was well made and for me a little dry. it wouldn't stop me from visiting again, but I'd probably have the same if there was one next time.
