"I booked an afternoon tea to have with my parents via Facebook, this was easy and they had no problem in answering any queries I had or changing the time of the booking, with quick replies. When we arrived, they had our table reserved and welcomed us and our dog in, letting her sit under our table. The afternoon tea came quickly despite having many other afternoon tea bookings at the same time. It was delicious! Big pot of tea, enough for a few cups each. They gave us 5 little sandwiches each, filled with egg mayonnaise, cheese tomato, ham, cucumber cream cheese, with a side of salad and crisps. A sultana scone with strawberry jam and cream, lovely! On top of that, we had a rocky road, lemon drizzle cake and two small meringues, filled with fresh cream and sliced strawberries. We couldn’t eat it all so they gave us a box to take home! They also sell homegrown veg and honey, which we didn’t try but it looked lovely! Would definitely recommend to anyone planning on visiting!"

Sadly a bit disappointed. Dogs in the cafe. Food OK, but pricey for what it was. Small number of seats. Staff as always pleasant.

Blanchards is excellent for a simple english type lunch, home cooked ham, egg an chips with a nice cup of tea, they normally have a gluten free cake but not bread, I have seen people eating afternoon tea, which can be provided gluten free, notice is required for afternoon tea

Went in during the morning for drinks. First impression was lovely as the coffee smelt so good! it was great and there was an excellent choice of fruit teas. The toilet was excellent and clean . Fresh flowers on the tables too. Very friendly and efficient staff. Would visit again. Only negative thing was that there was no soya or other non dairy milk for the coffee.

As the title states I haven’t been here before! Usually we go to the barge and bottle for lunch but we decided to go somewhere different! Just fancied a toasted teacake so that’s what I went for with a gingerbread latte! Both were delicious. Staff were friendly and helpful, the atmosphere clean and inviting. The items dotted around for sale were good quality and very fairly priced. We also took away some of the vanilla fudge which was also delicious! We will definitely be returning.

Popped into this corner café off the cuff when passing on foot. Lovely clean interior, I sat at a table next to the window.I ordered the full English with a cup of tea. There was toast included, so I asked if I could have a fried slice of bread instead of the toast, (who doesn't like fried bread with full English? .Anyway, the breakfast duly arrived as requested, but also with a round of toast by mistake. There was no additional charge for the round of toast, even though I had my fried bread as requested; so thank you! The food was excellent, and I thoroughly enjoyed my visit.I would recommend Blanchards for breakfast, and will visit again.

"Very good. this renovated and updated gastro pub has a beautiful, high-end feeling, without too posh. the personal is pleasant, real and well maintained. good drink selection! music selection didn't seem fit, but not extraordinarily. eating is exceptional, but, based on some personal preferences, there were slightly smaller disappointments with each dish. all were presented beautifully! the scallop starter was perfectly cooked, but there was an unexpected sticky texture on the sea red side. the chilis needed something sweet to balance them, but it was a nice warm pop. the acid from the grapefruit mixed with the petersilie mayonnaise drizzle, but both were delicious. some either flash-frozen or dry germinated greens gave beautiful texture, and the dish as a whole was beautiful. the duck ice starter was rich without being hard. slowly boiled (inspiring sous vide,) the egg was perfect. it was on a bed of slowly baked cheekwange, which is longing! some picking mushrooms have also added beautiful acid contrast. the brioche disc on which everything sat was not my favorite, but again can be personal preference. it seemed too thick, dense and sweet for the court. either would have been a nice sourded or an airy crawling cut my choice. again a very tasty dish. the healbutt main was absolutely wonderful! in butter lubricated, with fennel, white asparagus, a butter sauce with raw and squid-ink pasta. all with dill fronds. only small critique was the toughness of the tips of the braided fennel without knife, which is suitable for cutting through. a unique and very pleasant experience! it was great."
