"called in around 7pm for a meal place looked like it was closing but told no was not closing till later, the chips looked like they where left overs from lunch time, over cooked and dry, well the fish was awful. small, wet, and limp had a job finding it in all the over cooked batter, the wife's scampi was not cooked properly and it looked like cheap false scampi made from white fish, when we complained to the waitress she just shrugged her shoulders and walked off we just left as it was falling on deaf ears."

Lovely fish and chips, very fresh and I thought the price was reasonable, friendly staff, would highly recommend.

First class fish and chips, service from June was great, so nice to go somewhere where you feel welcome. Tried my first battered mars bar and it was superb. No complaints about anything. Hopefully be back in the area soon.

I have visited many Blue Lagoon restaurants, mostly in Glasgow. This one was another great experience with reasonably priced and excellent food. I had black pudding and chips with a soft drink, which was very tasty. I will definitely be returning. Ver carta

We have recently become vegan and opted for the vegan sausage and vegan nuggets. We we pleasantly surprised, the nuggets were really nice. We were served by Sebastian who was lovely. He couldn’t have done more to make us feel welcome and ensure we had everything we needed.

The chips were delicious, but the prices were quite surprising at £5 per bag. A family dining here could easily spend over £50. The prices were a bit high, but the staff was friendly and the quality of the food was good. Overall, it's a nice place to treat yourself, but be prepared for the cost.

I purchased a small portion of chips from the Blue Lagoon, situated next to the gorilla statue and cost over £3.00. They were presented to me stuffed in a small polystyrene container. I eat approximately a quarter of them, as the rest were either rubbery or residue. I was bitterly disappointed to say the least. Ver carta

I had a great experience at this restaurant. The fish tea was delicious and fresh, and it was served in a lovely environment by attentive staff. Although I felt that £11.50 was a bit expensive for fish and chips with a slice of bread, the portion size was decent and I enjoyed it enough to consider returning in the future.

Giving it 2/5 as the restaurant was warm and clean and the staff were great. The food was cold and the coffee was awful. The coffee was £3.20 and was the worst I have ever had, get a better coffee out the flask in the library. It was a rare treat for us to go for our friend's birthday and never again, will stick to Wetherspoons.

"We were a party of 5, on a cold, very wet Saturday evening, coldest so far I would say! We drew up and saw a young family of 3 sitting with jackets on in the conservatory area, we were a bit concerned! We took a...seat at the back of the conservatory which proved to be a big mistake! There was a terrible draught coming from behind me, I did mention it and was told it was 27c at the middle of the room, but not where we were sitting!! I mentioned it a few times and sat with my shawl scarf on throughout! I pulled down the window blinds hoping that would help, nope!! We ordered our food, I asked about a vegetarian option for my husband, our waitress did say he could a veggie option on the curry and the tempura or risotto, which was helpful! I had to ask what was the soup of the day and also the pate!! I did feel that maybe in this day and age there should have been a small dedicated vegetarian area on the menu, but that’s just my opinion! 3 of our party had starters which were great, Cullen skink, scallops and langoustine tempura, Main courses arrived, 3 fish and chips, one lemon soul and one veggie tempura, all were excellent except for the veggie tempura which was large shards of onion and carrot in an albeit lovely batter, but not all vegetarians like huge chunks of vegetables! 4 of our party had a sticky toffee pudding with vanilla ice cream, which was plentiful! Overall we had a pleasant meal, little or no atmosphere though, one of the younger waitresses (white shirt, black skirt) was friendly and more talkative, the waitress (dressed all in black)who served us was, we all felt a little disinterested and lacked any empathy with the guests! We asked for our bill, the youngest waitress came with the card machine and felt how cold it was only then did she check the windows to find there was one opened, hence the draught, which spoiled our visit because we were felling it cold!! We paid the bill and left a tip on the plate, no one came to say thank you for you custom, or have a nice evening, nothing!! All in all it was pretty inhospitable! Value you for money, it was good for the standard of the food!"
