"Came along for a small breakfast and taste of the coffee and teas on offer with a family friend. The breakfast I received was tiny for the price - about 2 slices of average baguette with one butter packet for two to share and a small yoghurt for €7, when the average hotel charges only a tiny amount more for an entire buffet breakfast. Tissues were not provided and milk had to be requested for the tea, as well as a cup for the coffee - in a coffee house, no less! The food and drinks themselves were tasty but mediocre at best. Service was friendly when available; despite the flow of customers at the time being quite slow it took quite a while for me to receive my food, leaving my friend alone to eat when hers came earlier (hot food). For the price of €30 it really wasn't worth it, and the cafe itself was more a tea room than coffee bar!"

Me and my girlfriend liked the place! We went there twice, and both times were really nice. Burgers, salads and cakes were very tasty and tea was just amazing!

We stopped here for coffee and a break while admiring the Grosse Cloche (separate review). Cafe-latte absolutely delicious, clean bathrooms, lots of books if you want to take a look and free WIFI. Ver carta

During our 4 day stay in Bordeaux, we visited Books and Coffee each morning and most afternoons since we stayed right across the street. Great ambiance and the employees were very friendly and helpful.

I am so glad I found this place while in Bordeaux for a week, and I returned every morning. The location is great in a very nice street, the coffee and food is excellent and well priced. Most importantly the staff are friendly and helpful, and made me feel welcome even though me French is terrible. Highly recommended.

Nice décor although could be in London, Paris, Berlin or Madrid. think modern pseudo trendy furnishing. nice kokedama plants though...Had to wait a mere 30mins to get a pot of sencha green tea and a croissant .It is a real shame that service is so slow (not to mention slightly amateur) because I could have given a better review. Hungry after a morning exploring Bordeax, we were drawn towards: the name, the concept, and a delicious sounding soup! And it was a good experience. The soup was excellent (carrot, pineapple and ginger), the burgers succulent, with delicious brioche buns, and as well as a wide ranging coffee selection, there were dozens of teas, herbal infusions and tissanes. Lunch in most French towns is a good experience, but this was a change from the usual cafes, bistros, bars and corner restaurants.

Trendy coffee shop, that appears to be very popular with young locals. On Sundays, the usual food menu is replaced by a fixed price brunch menu, which at €22 per person sounds a little pricey. However, for this you get a real feast!Croissants, Pancakes, yoghurt, eggs benedict, salmon tartare, potatoes and a nicely dressed side salad. This was all served on a beautifully presented platter, along with freshly squeezed juice; a cafetiere of fresh coffee and a kiwi shot.Whilst this may sound a little to much, it is all served in modest portions, so is not to over the top! Overall, this was a great experience. Though I would certainly recommend going on an empty stomach on a Sunday!Overall, the ex...
