Food was not good, grit in the clams and rubbery octopus! Had to send the octopus back and ordered the squid which was tasteless and tough! The service was good since we where the only customers they had that evening

Wonderful interface of Neapolitan traditional dishes presented with a flair. We each had the Genovese, succulent beef simmered with aromatic onions, warming on a rainy day. Creative desserts enhanced our dining experience. The restaurant is located 'down under ' in a restored cavern. Ver carta

"Very nice ambience. The restaurant is located in an old construction near Baia's port. You eat in the middle of an old courtyard, feeling like you are back in the 1950s. Very good tableware. A bit less comfortable is the entrance, as the place is right on the street, very busy and dangerous on saturday night. Service is good too, just a bit harrassing with waiters explaining every dish with long descriptions one forgets the second lates they finish. That is part of an atmosphere the owner wants to be classy and elegant. The problem is that food is not at the same level. I mean, it is good and fresh, especially raw fish, but preparations are too standard to justify an averagely high price. In a table of 7, we had cold and hot starters including raw seafood and one main dish (paranza fried fish for some and catch of the day for the others), plus 5 desserts and white wine. I believe 310€ are a bit too much for what we had, not really in terms of quantity, but for the quality of the preparations. One example is the cold starter: a dish composed by 5 different starters to be eaten from left to right, from lighter to stronger taste. You start with one single raw sea truffle, go on with a tuna tartare, one single raw baby red shrimp with burrata, raw calamari slices and finally smoked salmon. Good quality and right taste, but nothing new, no special work from the chef, that's food you can find in every good-standard restaurant in the area of Naples. Same with the fish we had: too simple. In my view, simplicity is a positive value in food, but not for a place that wants to construct its own style on a classy and elaborate (and expensive) cuisine concept. Different situation concerning the desserts which I personally didn't try but left my friends with very good sensations. In conclusion, it's worth a try, can be good for a romantic tête-à-tête or a dinner with friends, but don't expect a special experience."
