Borrodale - Carta

The night we visited the restaurant/pub was very busy. Nevertheless staff coped very well and service was good. We chose fish and chips, portion sizes were good, but the chips were poor and the batter a little bland. The beer was good.

I came here for a family meal recently and the service was fantastic. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. I ordered the steak and it was very tasty and perfectly cooked. The portions are generous so come with a hearty appetite! Would highly recommend...

Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Lovely little venue when there’s not much else around! Get Ali the Jap to give you a lift there with AM/PM taxis easily the best taxi driver I’ve ever had , wonderful stories about the island and very funny!!...Best meal we had in a restaurant on the island! We enjoyed a lovely cup of tea and coffee at this restaurant, along with a delicious breakfast that was specially prepared for us. It was a rainy and windy day, and we had just gotten off an early ferry with no open cafes in sight. The woman who served us was incredibly friendly and considerate. We are very grateful, thank you.

here the road from Eriskay to harris is stopped. it is a large hotel. during our stay the life cycles were well maintained and certain areas of the hotel were closed. the bedroom was above average for a double. the bathroom had been renovated, whirlpool tub with. rain shower over. they order breakfast in the morning before, continental or cooked. the evening meal was very good. tables well spaced and generous portions, we had the scampi and Chinese chicken curry. the young staff was friendly, polite and very helpful. the impression we got was that most people use it because of its location for a night enroute south or north.

I wanted to have a nice meal last night and was not disappointed. the menu is extensive and also the specialties add the choice. It's easy to read the reviews on here and be influenced by what is written, guess that is the purpose of the site but sometimes the reviews don't paint the whole picture. We found the staff very pleasant and very helpful. The hotel is a...short distance from the ferry port and on arrival the exterior seemed freshly painted and bright white in the evening sunshine. A friendly welcome, and our room 11) was obviously newly decorated, new carpet and newly fitted bathroom suite with jacuzzi bath. We ate in the bar both nights, good standard of pub food and local fish options. I enjoyed skate wings and my other half said his lamb chops were very tasty and cooked properly pink! This restaurant appears bright and fresh on the outside, but inside it is old-fashioned and dull. Despite having a reservation for dinner, we had to wait to be seated. There was no one at the reception and we had to find our own way to the bar, even though there were three staff members present. It was around 6:45pm and the place was not very busy. Eventually, we were shown to our table and given some attention. The decor in our dining area was outdated, with pine trims and dark drapes from the 1980s. There was also a musty smell near the entrance of the hotel. The entire place is in need of a major renovation. Unfortunately, it seems to rely on its reputation and the loyalty of its regular...

We stopped in here on the off chance and the vibe was great. It was full of locals and clearly doing lots of dinners for locals so we were encouraged. My husband did nip in to ask if we could eat and to ask if...they were happy with teenagers in the bar area all good. In addition he ascertained that the kitchen closed at 20:30 and since it was only 19:30 we thought all would be well. The place was very busy and full of families, couples, families and young folk.
