"Living in Metz, we thought we'd head south to Nancy for an afternoon coffee and walk around the fabulous Stanislas Square - which is worth a visit in it's own right...We wandered into Brasserie Le Jean Lamour, and ordered two cappuccinos - like one does...The staff are snooty and dismissive, so unfortunately typical of too many French establishments - my French is good. but of course I'm sure I have an "English" accent so we got the "tourist" rather than local treatment...Coffee was poor, especially by French standards - and when we came to pay we were told that there is 10 Euro min charge when using a card...Now, I get this - but there are no signs or indications that this is a house rule - and anyway there is an ATM 10m away so we could have gone there if we had known...So, poor coffee, dismissive and snooty service and made up on the spot minimum charges get this place a Poor rating...If anyone is reading this post, and it is in English deliberately; treat all your customers like they are locals and they will come back again and again..Oh - and if you want to make up minimum charges - put a sign up somewhere..."

Slow service. Not an interisting menu. Paid a reletively high price for a **** and unchewable steak.

You pay for the location - a magnificent view of Place Stanislas - but it is worth it. Food thus slightly pricey, but very good indeed. And the waiter was professionally friendly, which added to the overall good experience

The location is prime with a beautiful terrace directly on the square. The place is made of a cafe with snacks and a restaurant brasserie. Reading the latest review we decided for the cafe and the snacks which was OK nothing more.

Do not go there! Tourist trap. Take hours to get a simple beer and waiters are not nice and do not seem to worry about clients waiting for 25 minutes without getting any beverage. Very expensive for such a bad client experience. Not worth. Ver carta

Love sitting on the square of Place Stanislas at this cafe drinking cocktails with my lovely girlfriend watching the many people walking by. Great drinks, but service can be a little slow. Busy, busy, busy! Not me: I was drinking cocktails!

Everyone knows that restaurant which is located in the tourist place is almost always not good. But this one was really nice and I remember up to today the perfect taste of their Foie Gras.. in combination with Place Stanislas view was perfect.

Nice meal on last night of a brief visit to France for a rededication service.I had the texan ribs which were tasty and well cooked. All the food came quickly and the service was great despite our poor attempts at French language!Definately recommend this restaurant

Place Stanislas is a nice place and after looking at the menu cards of a few restaurants we decided to pick this one. We sat outside at the first two rows near the building. I think is the only place they serve dinner. The seats further away, more towards the square, are for drinks only it seems. We were attended to quickly and professionally. We decided to have light dinner here. I ordered a carpaccio and my friend had a brochette volaille (chicken). I know, both sound like really dull food, but we really found them very tasteful and quite something different than the usual steak and fries. We couldn't withstand the temptation to also order a dessert.. I had a 2 boule ice cream and my friend...
