These sisters have been cooking fresh food daily since since or so.And still going strong! Their lunches and cakes cannot be recommended

Some of the best lamb I have ever tasted, in a wonderful location and accompanied by a great selection of wines. The menu looked like one where you couldn’t put a foot wrong.

Lovely salmon/horseradish quiche, new potatoes were great and salad. Service very good. Nothing was too much trouble. Prices very reasonable. Have been several times and never fails to deliver very good food and service .

Such a treat of a place! The Britons Arms is defined by attention to detail; everything was excellent, from the mains, the sides, the salads, toasties, and desserts, down to the playlist playing in the background! Brilliant staff too :

My fiancé and I went here for his birthday dinner. This was a great place to go to it had delicious English food with fresh herbs and a great flavour. My fiancé said the lamb was the best he'd had in years. I am a vegan, and my food was great too. The wine selection was great, with local and international wines on offer. The place is on a really beautiful street in Norwich, so you get a lovely view.

Popped in this afternoon as the place had re opened. What a disappointment! When I asked for a table for the dreadful girl behind the counter was so rude, she was sarcastic, and made me feel as though I’d wished I hadn’t gone in. Is it too much to ask for a bit of civility? I shan’t go there again, and continue to patronise the other lovely places in Norwich like the Waffle House, Number and Merchant House, where you’re always greeted with a warm welcome.

I visited the Britons Arms yesterday and asked for a table in the garden as the weather is so hot. There were free tables available however I was told I was not alliwed to sit in the garden just having coffee and cake, that this was exclusive to lunch customers!If there were empty tables and I was having something to eat, this felt quite rude. So I left to find somewhere that would appreciate my custom and spent my money elsewhere.Will not be going back again.

I was hoping for a good meal here as I had been before (which was nice) but sadly not. I had the Lamb 'stew ' which wasn 't a stew at all. The dumpling was flavourless and cold in the middle (I 'm thinking frozen) and the Lamb was also just about tepid in the middle. The mix of different beans had what seemed like vast amounts of chutney in so that was all you could taste and made it very acidic. There was no overall decent flavours in the meal whatsoever, I had to add a fair bit of salt just to get some taste. My girlfriend had the mushroom soup, which came with a cheese toastie. I had high hopes for Sunday lunch at the Britons Arms after reading so many 5 star reviews. What a disappointment. Yes, the building is a historic one but the interior is not charming. Furniture was cheap and basic, tables were sticky. All this could be forgiven if the food was good but it was really awful. My fish pie was watery and inedible, and I couldn't eat more than two mouthfuls. My companion's beef roast was a horrid school dinner style mess. Piled high, yes, but dreadful quality, overcooked beef and roast potatoes that looked and tasted like they'd been cooked days before.
