"While touring around Hamburg, we decided it would be good to stop at the Brooklyn Burger Bar which was listed in the top ten burger places. Being fairly close to the area where we were doing our sightseeing it worked out well. We arrived a little after the main lunchtime so it wasn't very busy and we were seated right away! The meals were served very quickly and everything tasted very good! Two of us ordered the traditional cheeseburger which came with a thick slice of tomato, lettuce, a mound of mild flavored dill pickles, thinly sliced red onions, and a bit of ketchup. The third person in our group ordered the BBQ burger which had four layers; coleslaw on the bottom, then a very generous portion of pulled pork, then onions sautéed in a red wine sauce, and topped off with cheese. The burgers were cooked just right and the pulled pork was tender and juicy. Each of our meals came with a beverage and a side. We all ordered the sweet potatoes fries. Two of us had the ranch dip which was a little different than plain ranch in the U.S. as it was a little spicer but still very tasty. The third had the chili lime seasoning which was also very tasty! For our beverages, we ordered two rhubarb drinks which were rhubarb mixed with sparkling cider. This was a nice alternative to a pop as it wasn't too sweet. One of us ordered the Basil Lemon Lemonade which was the best! It had a very tasty, unique flavor. All of our drinks were served with a few ice cubes which we always appreciate! The service was amazing and the waiters were very friendly. I especially appreciated their willingness to let me charge my cell phone battery which had been completely drained from the morning of sightseeing. The prices were reasonable. The decor had a rustic flair with what seemed to be old school chairs, and we enjoyed the saying on the wall which read, "A balanced diet is having a hamburger in each hand."If you're looking for a place to eat a hamburger while in Hamburg, we highly recommend the Brooklyn Burger Bar."

Great food, especially if you’re an American craving a typical burger. Lots of choices and a little European flare added. Oh and they have a great bourbon selection which is rare in the area. Ver carta

We visited twice, once for drinks and another for food and was impressed both times. There's a really nice, chilled atmosphere here and the burgers were amazing. The hangover burger was so nice. Great range of beers and cocktails as well as friendly staff. Our favourite bar in Hamburg! Ver carta

We visited with a couple of friends and despite we didn't have a reservation, they managed to find us a spot to have dinner if we were ok finishing before the next reservation came. The ambience is really nice and cozy, good background music and very nice food. We tried 3 different burgers and they were all delicious. The home made lemonades are certainly worth trying too!Plus, the waiters were service minded, food was served relatively quickly and best of all, always with a smile on their faces despite it was obvious that it was quite a busy day (running here and there). To top it all, the prices are quite reasonable for the quality of the food - around 15-30 € per person.NOTE - the place st...

Went there with the husband mid-week and it was full, so better book a table in advance. The atmosphere is hip and loud, so I wouldn't recommend it for a romantic date. It's more this modern/retro/hip/guys with beards kinda place. The food menu is quite big and the cocktail menu is even bigger. Almost all burgers come also in a veggie version which is great. The food was brought to our table 5 minutes after the order was made, so good job with the quick service. I had the veggie chimichuri and husband had the back yard BBQ (with extra meat) both were really good. One star less because the vegetarian patty was kinda dry, but now Im just being spoiled :) For 2 burgers, 1 portion of fries, one...

"There's always a question (in my mind, anyway) as to Michelin's accuracy/usefulness outside of France. In the US, it's not very helpful at all and in Europe ex-France, I've found it hit and miss. Haerlin represented only my second stab at a two-star in Germany and the first meal (Heinz Winkler), while a thoroughly wonderful overall experience, felt like the second star might have been a stretch. Not so at Haerlin, this was a two-star meal that stands fork-to-fork with any I can remember. The food is stylized to within an inch of its life, but close to flawless in both conception and execution. Outside of a large selection of generally unremarkable breads and a luke-warm roasted onion broth added to an amuse at table side that probably should have been hotter, the meal was simply one perfect dish after another. Maybe the sorbet intermezzo was a little old school in such a fashion forward meal, but - hey - it was delicious! Keep it.The room is suitably formal, luxurious in a traditional style, and quite comfortable. The pace of service might be a little leisurely for some (I ate alone and the four-course menu (seven + courses, including amuses, etc) pushed it a bit, stretching just over three hours. However, the friendly and attentive staff kept an eye out the entire time and stopped by if the time between courses presented the opportunity. The somm, in particular, was a great diversion, visiting from time to time to discuss the varied and interesting wines on offer. He provided useful insight into the outstanding selection of trocken Rieslings on the list. He guided me to a 2001 Burklin-Wolf GG that, at Eu 150, was both a great bottle of mature white and a tremendous value for a wine of this quality in this type of restaurant. (Good luck finding a white burgundy of this quality at this price at any multi-star restaurant - or at retail, for that matter.) He also suggested a wonderful German Pinot Noir by the glass that worked perfectly with the meat course and wasn't terribly expensive. The list is extensive, but not the tome you see at some restaurants, but don't be fooled - wine service at Haerlin is both a major plus and represents notable value in the context of multi-star restaurants.I'm not going to argue two-star vs three-star because that distinction often seems to be kind of mysterious (and tangentially related to the food), but I will say that this place certainly deserves two stars. I had just a flat-out great meal. If you can work in a visit, Haerlin should be high on your list."
