Busaba Bangkok Thai A€“ Bloomsbury

Just had lunch at this place. The location is fantastic. The food was delicious and the décor was lovely.

When I arrived they did not have my reservation in their system. I checked personally but couldn’t find my name. But they found us a space

Loved the decor, very friendly staff and a true taste of Thailand. Prices are very reasonable for the service you get. I’m definitely going back

Food is really good, Thai calamari is a must here. Reasonable price and relaxed atmosphere, not as busy as the one in soho especially during the weekend. A little bit disappointed that they don’t have any dessert.

Divine food and great value. Nice location. Would recommend but perhaps a bit noisy for a business lunch which isn’t a bad thing considering how buzzy it was at 12.30, will consider private room next time for business but highly recommend for all occasions

I enjoyed dining at Budaba, but the portions were quite small, leaving me a bit hungry. I tried the fish cake, ginger beef, sticky rice, and banana fritter, all of which were very tasty. Despite the small portions, I will definitely be returning to this restaurant for future meals.

I have quickly become a fan of this Busava restaurant because it is smaller than others, which means quicker service and reasonable noise levels. The only downside is that I find Buscava to be too expensive for a casual dining spot. However, I keep going back and paying because I can't resist their delicious calamari - it's addictive.

The recipe for several dishes had been changed, and are no longer authentic Thai like they used to be. The serving staff said indeed the recipe had changed 2,3 times over the last years and the cook was kind enough to takeback one dish redoing it. But it was no use as the fried fish cakes remain dry and burned. Idem for the grilled chicken in pandan leaves. Rice bowl withpork is too sweet and pork covered with black burns. I think the kitchen has become perhapsmore english than Thai. A pity!

The standard of some dishes seems to have slipped. The green curry with chicken was not acceptable with only three pieces of chicken and represents poor value for money at £12 without rice. I raised this with the manager, but no resolution was offered. I was told that portions are weighed, so I can only assume the meanness of the portion was a deliberate choice by the restaurant. The bang kapi katsu and rice (crispy chicken and curry sauce) on a previous visit was very bland. Reluctant to return, especially given the abundance of other Thai restaurants to choose from.
