"We'd been for a super, much needed massage not too far away and wanted to finish it off with a light lunch nearby. Knowing the Covid measures were causing problems and most resturants were still operating on reduced hours, we weren't sure what was available. We did however know that the Garden Centres were open and plumped for visiting Bybrook Barn. We hadn't been for a couple of years and were surprised and delighted by the new layout. Even more delightful was the food. We both opted for the Bacon, Brie Cranberry Pannini. I thought it was a bit steep at £6.70 untli we discovered it came with chips, coleslaw and a salad. Foregoing the salad, we tucked into a delicious, if slighty hot, meal. The chips (if you've read any of my earlier reviews I'm a bit of a connoisseur) were perfect. Just how I love them, crispy on the outside and soft, begging to be devoured on the inside which I did. They'd even removed the rind from the bacon. Thank goodness. It was quite amazing because at that moment my sister brother in law turned up as we were finishing and we got to see their food too. The jacket potato with coronation chicken is definitely my next dish on my next journey to Ashford."

Breakfast was terrible and tasteless. Eggs not cooked, cold beans and sausage. One breakfast arrived and the other was 10 mins behind. Wouldn’t not recommend.

Used to do lovely sandwich platters presented with lovely salad. Now it's a cardboard box sandwich with a little plastic tub of so called salad. Still charging for platter.

9 am, serving staff seemingly un interested, we ordered scrambled eggs. It was tasteless and of a gelatinous consistency, so diluted that I wonder if it was a premix in a carton or even powdered egg. Very disappointed. Ver carta

The café inside the garden centre is nice, offering well-priced and decent savoury food and cakes. The atmosphere is relaxed, and the staff are friendly. It's a nice spot for a quick bite or a small lunch. We had jacket potatoes.

Way over priced for what you get and not the best quality. 2 of us got the set breakfast and it was okay, not great. My partner got just 2 tiny 5p size mushrooms on his plate and I got about 10, no consistency on portions. Food was bland

Very disappointing breakfast; egg overdone, bacon underdone (even after asking for it well done). Cold mushrooms God knows what disgusting spread they used on the 'cold ' toast, it tasted like Savlon. Horrible sachets of overly sweet brown sauce. Couldn 't wait to queue to complain, so never again! Sad, because it used to be so nice. Ver carta

Lots of the food looks great to be fair ..... but I’m a stickler for details and quality !!! Do not order the scrambled eggs !!! It’s cooked in a square container until it’s the consistency of rubber then cut up in chunks and laid on the toast .... 100 percent the worst scrambled eggs I’ve ever seen or tasted in my life !!! If you like rubber then you will be fine .

My Husband and I just experienced the unpleasant task of trying to eat fruit scones that tasted like uncooked lumps of grey Garden clay !! Yeeuk ! We would have complained but felt sorry for the staff as they were so busy. The Coffer however was awesome. . No complaints there. Have the coffee but steer lead of under cooked scones would be my advice, Can’t rid myself of the taste of raw flour and baking powder.

"Our excitement to see this café open allowed us an opportunity for some needed refreshment . Oh a cup of tea and a slice of cake or a little available small snack was what we needed . We were told by an employee sit down we come to you , so we did .. Another staff member standing behind the counter looked over and frumpy look called the cook who had the same frumpy look and went back to cooking , We : waited , waited , waited , waited and saw the frumpy counter woman still in the same spot , we waited and waited then left , maybe she was glued to the floor . We looked left and saw a pub named the Pheasant, oh drink and food , renewed enthusiasm and excitement we entered to staff who couldn 't do enough, so professional and warrants praise and a revisit , after a while we left and waited outside for our taxi , looking over we saw the cafe closed , ahhhhh it all came together and understanding that we was an inconvenience to the café as they was closing in half an hour after our visit , How long would it have taken to make a cup of tea for two? , us drink it , then how long would it have taken them to wash up the cups ? , they still would have twenty minutes for the woman to be unglued, our first impressions were of a cafe with many seats and a welcoming atmosphere, the woman employee sitting at the front table working was professional and welcoming the tables were clean and we kept our excitement as we waited , our excitement and enthusiasm faded, we left happily for the woman glued to the floor , we are appreciating the effort of the lady at the table who was seriously let down by the others , thank you for your efforts , apart from her professional customer service skills our Eureka moment to see the café open wasn 't to last , sorry to the staff member at the table I 'm very sure the service we had wouldn 't have been what you would have given , this review seems strong in tone but it 's our experience in here that day.. . I am not now able to show enthusiasm for another visit , I would have loved having that day and opportunity to empty my wallet a little and a little bit more on what would have been another visit , sorry no Eureka moment taken away that day."
