"The breakfast at this restaurant was absolutely delicious. I tried both the full fry up and the veggie fry up and left feeling satisfied. The smoothies were also fantastic. I was pleasantly surprised by how good the veggie haggis was. I definitely recommend eating here! I visited on a Saturday morning and had no trouble getting a table."

"My experience at Burnt Umber was nothing short of exceptional. The dinner menu, infused with contemporary European influences, offered a variety of exquisite dishes. The starters set a high standard, with the creamy burrata and roasted peppers being a standout. It was not just the food that impressed; the wine list was extensive, providing perfect pairings for each course. I particularly enjoyed the recommended wine with my main course, the seared Scottish salmon, which was cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. The atmosphere of the restaurant added to the overall experience it was elegantly decorated, creating a warm and inviting ambiance. The staff were exceptional, striking the perfect balance between professional and personable. They were attentive, knowledgeable about the menu, and offered great recommendations. While the prices were on the higher side, they were justified by the quality of the ingredients and the skill in preparation. Burnt Umber is a true gem, ideal for special occasions or for those who appreciate fine dining. I'm already looking forward to my next visit."

"I'm embarrassed to admit that I should have written this review ages ago. I'm a regular at Sakura but I have wanted to keep the place a secret for myself but that is obviously not fair or sustainable. Fortunately the rest of the world doesn't think selfishly like me. What can I say about this place. Well lets start with the food. It's frankly the best Sushi I've ever had and I've done my fair share of travel. We moved to South Woodford 5 years ago and have previously used Wansteads Sumo Fresh until Sakura moved in. A tiny space on Hermon Hill I've watched it grow from a couple of people to over half a dozen and the quality and care have been maintained if not even excelled. Sakura ensure quality, if you have to wait for that quality then get over yourself, it's worth it. You get personal service each and everytime. I don't know how they do it but they know me by name and they look after me everytime."

"Found Le Merlin on website recommending top restaurants suitable for people with Coeliac disease. It was absolutely amazing, staff were super friendly and we had the best coffee and crepes we’ve ever had, living next to France I’ve eaten a lot of crepes but these were by far the best. Both the savoury and sweet crepes tasted great and can’t wait to go back!"

"At our table, we noticed that the adjacent table received STK's signature bread right away, while we hadn’t even been offered any. After ordering drinks, we waited about 10 minutes before our waiter came over to ask how everything was. My husband mentioned that we were still waiting for our drinks, which arrived shortly after he asked. We ordered our meals, and my husband chose the calamari starter, which was impressively large. We both opted for steaks. As we were enjoying our conversation, another couple seated nearby received their bread and dip almost immediately. This made me wonder if we had been forgotten, so I asked a staff member if we had missed out on something.... we were indeed overlooked, but thankfully the bread came shortly after. Once our food was finally ready, it was delivered by a different waiter (a runner) to a table next to us and just left there instead of being brought to us. After a while, we managed to get another waiter’s attention to bring our food over. When our meals did arrive, they were quite nice. The asparagus was good, and the truffle fries were delightful—hard to go wrong with deep-fried fries, really. After finishing our meals, we had empty plates in front of us for about 20 minutes. I wanted to order a warm cookie, but at that point, I had lost interest in what was meant to be a special meal, and we just wanted to return to our suite. When we finally asked for the bill, it seemed they were aware we weren't completely satisfied. The bill was £140 after a discount (I had opted out of the optional service fee of £17.50), but we were actually charged £152. I didn't bother to argue about it. For a restaurant that prides itself on its service, we expected much better."
