"Firstly, I 'd say the food was comensurate, with the prices, ie high prices with good quality food. The salad was a bit over oiled ! CUSTOMER SERVICE Waitress (clerk 01) that 's £17.....cash or card? Customer please? Waitress yea ! Customer you mean £17 please? Waitress yea Customer Are you going to say £17 please? Waitress yea cash or card? Gave £20 note....... Waitress £3 change Customer Thankyou ? Waitress Yea Customer You didn 't say 'please ' or 'thankyou ' during the entire transaction ? Waitress oh Waitress have a nice day SIR Customer no need to be facitious, I only asked why you never say 'please ' or 'thankyou ' Waitress rolled eyes carried on polishing spoons. The problem is, that no matter haw good the food is; if the customer experience is disrespectful, then they 'll never reach the next level. They tend to forget, that the customer is number 1 !! No customers no business no job no wages Customer service needs improvement, as an absolute MINIMUM, a 'plesse ' 'thank you ' would go a long way."

This antiques center has a variety of display sections and a great café. However, there is a parking issue as it took me 20 minutes to find a spot.

We had a delicious lunch at this cafe, which we did not expect. I love the way it is set in amongst the Antiques. Lovely food and very pleasant, friendly staff.

A great place to visit with good food, coffee and cake. Friendly, staff, and service. A great place to visit with good food, coffee and cake. A walk around the antique shop is a bonus.

Visited here after reading reviews and was not disappointed a fabulous place to meet for lunch or coffee and cake. Lovely food and seating area surrounded by a lovely environment to browse and buy if something catches your fancy. Whilst it was busy we were still able to park in the rear car park

I don't know but there is nothing to complain! Normally people are nice to you if you're nice to them... But anyway our first experience was amazing and we felt welcome. Great value food was really yummy. We eat burger... delicious! Nice staff helpful and friendly. Of course this is not Michelin Star Restaurant but this doesn't matter...So don't be afraid of anything... nice Ambiente and good food!Enjoy!

Interesting and lovely selection of treasures beautifully displayed . Delightful experience browsing in an imaginative setting to hunt for unique and special antiques. Something to delight the eye at every turn . The café is well worth a visit tempting selection of cakes . We opted for the cream tea which was delicious . Tasty warm home bake scones with lashings of cream and jam . Very enjoyable experience Ver carta

Arrived with a group of 10 friends on a bike wanting to stop for a coffee to be greeted at in the Car Park by a lady who said that we could not park our bikes up against her wall as it is blocking the car park. She then intimated that as we would not be buying any antiques we were not welcome in the Cafe and she suggested that we went to the Milk Shed down the road. Guess what, we took her advice and went to the Milk Shed. You know what they say about 1st impressions I would not go back here for a coffee nor would I consider going back to buy any Antiques. Out of the group of 11 what is to say that if we enjoyed the coffee we might have a walk around and come back later with the car ... How...

Called here with family for a light bite and having a food intolerance I usually find very little to eat, but this café provided a delicious lunch one and a half rounds of gluten free bread filled with bacon, brie and cranberry with chunky chips which were really tasty. A cheese scone and an apple cake eaten by my companions were equally delicious. There were lots of interesting specials on the board which I might be tempted to try on a return visit. However the tea consisted of a large wide topped bowl cup with a tea bag in the hot water not what I was expecting, with a little dish on which to deposit the used tea bag. I would have preferred a pot and a proper tea cup not a cappuccino coffe...

"Popped in on a spur of the moment thing. Have eaten here a couple of times before. We sat in the bar area and had a selection of starters. Fresh dressed crab with salad, starter portion of moules mariniere, and tuna carpaccio and a side of fab chips, and crusty lovely bread. With a couple of drinks, the bill came to £38 . The staff were attentive and friendly. The food was delicious. Would certainly recommend. Here in The Cotswolds we are a long way from the coast, so to have a really lovely, fresh seafood lunch was great."

"My wife and I were welcomed into the sun and ushered to a table by lovely waitress. We had a hook ale from the brewery down the road- very nice! I enjoyed an excellent sunday pork roast (me) with all trimmings. Particularly the best carrot and parsnips. Really nice gravy. The most splendid yorkshire. Potatoes were so crisp- the chef really does the veges so so well. My wife had fish and chips. The fish had the best batter and the chips very good. Homemade tartare I think- very nice. Normally she does not like the tartare but this seemed fresh and worked well with grilled lemon. We left big tip and will come back again next month when on holiday- forget Chipping Norton, they all overcharge and the customers and hosts out here in the country are quieter and more friendly"

"Sadly not quite up to expectations. We were seated promptly on arrival and our order was taken quickly. The food that was served was of a good standard. However there were a few things throughout the meal that let the side down slightly. I ordered the bread and houmous for starter, when it arrived there was no houmous. When I questioned this I was told they didn't have any left, the waitress asked what I would like instead not a question I can answer with out being given a list of options! When we asked her to find out she came back from the kitchen saying there was no alternative, would I like some butter. Had I known all of this before ordering I would have chosen something other than bread and butter. Another member of our party who arrived after the initial group ordered a lime and soda to drink but was served what tasted like a lemonade instead, when this was questioned she was told it was the lime and soda she asked for, yet it tasted very different to the lime and soda ordered by another member of the group... When it came to dessert, it was asked if the sticky toffee pudding came with ice cream as it wasn't mentioned on the menu, we were told it did. However when the desserts arrived there was no ice cream, when we queried this we were each given a small ramekin containing one scoop of chocolate ice cream, a little bit of an odd combination with sticky toffee pudding and a shame not to have had it all on the same plate. Finally, as much as we love dogs, having them constantly run under the table around our feet wasn't ideal for a sunday lunch time. It's a shame the service and attention to detail wasn't quite up to scratch as the majority of the food could not be faulted at all and they catered well for the various dietary requirements of the group."

"I’m frustrated and annoyed with booking a romantic meal for our year wedding anniversary, with the current pandemic and work commitments it made a change to make an effort and be excited to visit the boxing hare as the reviews had been excellent. We...were seated in the garden room, next to a family who were on first name terms with the waiting staff and who were so loud I thought I was at a Chelsea match! We received complimentary glasses of champagne and we placed our order for starters and main which were excellent however I felt rushed with the service, as much as I tried to have a conversation all I could hear was this family at decibels to which enough was enough usually I would say something, however rather than ruin there evening I asked for us to be reseated to which the waiting staff were in agreement that they were loud! So why place us next to them? We were given a table in a different part of the pub still busy with other diners giving respect to one another. The table given I was advised I had as it was reserved? I placed dessert order and two lattes with baileys followed by the bill! The bill was a tad on the steep side for a gastro pub perhaps the prices are based on the price of fuel to fill the owners Bentley Overall felt it was a rushed evening disappointed with the seating arrangements,I won’t be returning as I felt what was important to us wasn’t important to the Boxing Hare I’ve had better evenings at The Falkland Arms Great Tew, The Great Western Aynho"

"I do visit the straw kitchen occasionally and have never been disappointed. Brilliant food! Yesterday's bacon sarnies there were three of us) just perfect beautifully cooked and served with a beetroot relish, unbelievable. All cooked to order, takes a little time but then quality...just cannot be rushed. No matter how busy the SK is, service is always polite and courteous."
