2 families - 8 of us - had drinks then lunch on Sunday (market day). Good variety of food. Yes there is Thai food there which one of us had. But they also have more traditional French including Menu du jour (pork confit- excellent). Good place to watch the hussle bussle of the market crowd. Ver carta

The welcome is warm from Patrick and his great team in this always excellent place in Montcuq. An interesting map, with high quality and rich and well presented dishes. We were staying for a week nearby and had dinner here twice in that time. The first time it was nice enough to sit outside under the large tree in the centre of the village which was so nice. The staff were friendly and service was excellent, the Anglo/Belgian owers are very hospitable. The menu is substantial, something for everyone, we had steaks, omelette and the confit duck all very good. Desserts were also delicious. When siiting inside there is a welcoming fire. The wine menu is good and very reasonable we had a carafe of the local red which was great. We can highly recommend this restaurant.

Fortunately, we ordered only one dish each at this restaurant as we had to finish our meal in time to attend the excellent production of Richard the 3rd against the atmospheric backdrop of the Montcuq tower.My wife's goats cheese omelette had no texture, was flat as a pancake and no flavour.I chose Confit de Canard because I thought that would be a safe bet but somehow it managed to be dry without being crispy on the outside. Another safe bet, so I thought, was a bottle of Pic St. Loup red which at €27 should have been good. It wasn't corked though it might as well have been!Ironically, I am not sure there is anywhere else in Montcuq that is any better. Ver carta
