"I really want to give this caffe 5/5 because the personal is wonderful, eating is really great, and the vegan options are diverse and delicious. today I ordered a vegan cheese toastie and my partner ordered milk cheese toastie. these were served us, vegan first and milk second the waitress made clear that the alleged vegan was served me. but I was halfway through mine before I realized it was milk cheese. I checked the sandwich of my partner to discover that he was the vegan. they can say through the smell and the texture, but I was so hungry that I was wolfed without review. the personal was really apologetic and refunded my order. I was relieved that they seemed to understand how terrifying it was for me. on this afternoon I had cramps, vomited at work and had to go home early. I hadn't eaten any milk for years, so my like was really upset. Unfortunately, I can't say that I'm planning to see again at any time. only really disappointed, it seemed like an honest mistake, but it is the type of mistake that can easily be avoided, and it has made me very uncomfortable. if I had an allergy instead of an intolerance, that would have been much worse. I will not give up on the caffe, as any independent place that is vegan is to support in my book, but due to this traumatic experience I will give it a great birth for a dae."

Love the vegan carrot cake here! Amazing place for working on creative projects like writing. It's such a gorgeous space to find some fresh inspiration. Shame you can't allocate five stars on the app!

very enjoyed our experience of cafe etch. such a friendly and welcoming caffe with an excellent menu full of vegan options. we ordered the hotdog that came with coleslaw and salat and also shared a very refreshing mango, pineapple and banan smoothness. the hotdog was great and had such a great texture with a beautiful companion colony Slav. to finish our meal, we also ordered a disc when carrot cake and a sprinkled cake, as it would not be too rude! Both cakes were moist and extremely tasteful, the carrot cake especially delicious. in any case a place to visit when in boro.

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience of Cafe Etch. Such a friendly and inviting cafe with an excellent menu full of vegan options. We each ordered the hotdog, which came with coleslaw and salad and also shared a very refreshing mango, pineapple and banana smoothie. The hotdog was superb and had such a great texture with a lovely accompanying coleslaw. To finish our meal we also ordered a slice if carrot cake and a sprinkled cake, as it would be rude not too! Both cakes were moist and extremely flavourful, the carrot cake especially yum yum. Definitely a place to visit when in the 'boro.

Cafe Etch offers a lovely atmosphere with ample seating, avoiding any feelings of being crowded unlike other establishments. However, the decor could use an update. The cafe's location in the city centre is very convenient. The staff is knowledgeable about veganism and provided fast service. I ordered the falafel and hummus toastie, which was tasty but a bit dry for my liking, causing me to not finish it. Other options included a vegan sausage bap and various hummus toast combinations. At £5 per toastie, I didn't feel the price was unreasonable. Overall, it is worth trying at least once, but some changes to the menu and dishes would be welcome.

My girlfriend and I were exploring Middlesbrough when we decided to try out this café that caught our eye. Initially, we thought it was closed, but there was a sign on the door stating that they closed it to retain heat. We were able to walk in without a reservation and noticed there were no paper menus on the tables, only a menu on a chalkboard near the counter. The customer service seemed a bit lacking, as if the server was having a rough day. Despite being quiet with plenty of available seats, there was a limited menu on the day we visited. I opted for a sausage sandwich while my girlfriend chose a falafel and hummus toastie. The food arrived promptly and looked appetizing. If you find yo...

"We started with the Alkaline Nachos (£10.95), which featured nachos topped with marinated baked quinoa, fried beans, cashew cream, guacamole, pineapple salsa, and pickled red cabbage. The dish was drizzled with smoked cashew cheese. They were delightful, sweeter than any nachos I had before, and had a nice tangy twist. Next, we tried the BBQ Tacos (£9.50), which included shredded carrot in an alkaline BBQ sauce served in a crispy corn shell filled with fried beans and guacamole, along with pineapple salsa and pickled red cabbage, accompanied by a side salad. These were hands down the best BBQ tacos I've had in the north. The Thai Buddy Bowl (£10.95) was another standout dish. It featured orange teriyaki chickpea tofu, surrounded by pineapple "fried" quinoa, purple coleslaw, a Thai side salad with almond and ginger dressing, and quinoa falafels with mango chutney. The blend of flavors was incredible, and this was my favorite dish—something I could happily eat several times a week. I plan to return just for this dish! We also tried the Thai Wrap (£9.95), which contained quinoa and drippy butter falafels wrapped in a soft tortilla with mango chutney, coleslaw, and kimchi—served with a Thai side salad, almond and ginger dressing, and pineapple quinoa. The combination of ingredients in this falafel wrap was unexpected but fantastic. Once again, it was sweeter than I had anticipated. For dessert, we enjoyed the Pink Pitaya Acai Bowl (£5.50), a fruity and smooth blend with celestial blueberries, bananas, kiwi, and coconut—perfect for breakfast! It was a real power breakfast. We paired our meal with Immunity Boost Juice (£4.00 each) made from strawberry, pear, apple, and lemon juice—it was refreshing and invigorating. The Tropical Sunrise Smoothie (£4.50) blended papaya, mango, orange, banana, coconut, maple, and cashew, maintaining the unique flavors of each fruit beautifully. Lastly, we had the Peanut Butter and Jelly Smoothie (£4.50), featuring strawberries, banana, peanut butter, maple syrup, and lemon balm. It might sound odd, but it worked perfectly— the earthy peanut butter provided a lovely texture and taste that complemented the sweetness of the fruit. Overall, it was a fantastic experience that was well worth the wait."
