This place has a variety of breakfast items and is very affordable. Enjoy breakfast several hours here one day, then beer and then some lunch. Staff also very efficient.

Don't be put off by its look as it is a great bar with helpful staff and great prices for a wine or beer.Nice to sit in a table outside and watch the locals go up and down the street.

das cafe magistrat hat eigentlich nichts gemütliches an sich. wenn man sich dort nicht wohlfühlt ist es auch kein fehler. war einmal dort und das reicht dann auch...vielen dank, aber da gibt es einiges zu verbessern..

On a nice day I'd recommend this is a great place to sit outside if you are in the area and fancy breakfast while people watching. Eggs bacon with a decent coffee in the sunshine on the Taborstrasse is a fine start to the...day. If the weather isn't so good the inside seems to be a haven for chain smokers.

Although the prices were reasonable, my companion could not have the heavy smoke throughout the place stomach. Austria, I understand, is a little behind the time regarding the restriction of smoking in public places and in restaurants. It seemed to me that almost everyone except us... smoked. The drinks were good and the prices were fair.

I entred the place and had a seat. Waited the attendant finish her typing on her cell to make my order. Coffee was so and so. When I paid her, she said she did not accept small coins such as of 1 and 2 cents...that would make total of 10 cents. OMG. It is money isn't it? I got as a change why cant she get it too?! Did not like this place at all.

I went with my boyfriend to have a soup as we needed it after a few days traveling and having fast food.The menu was written in german so we couldn't understand it. We went inside to ask for the soups and the waitress was really nice and gave us a menu in english.We oredered two soups and it cost us 6.90€ in total. Really good price for being next to the city centre and we sat outside in the terrace.The soup could have been better flavoured but to be fair, it was quite late, and they nearly had the kitchen closed.

Der Karmeliterplatz und die Geschäfte im 2. Wiener Bezirk laden den Besucher ein, sich ein wenig länger aufzuhalten als geplant. Eine Pause im Kaffeehaus darf nicht fehlen.Das Café Magistrat allerdings ist nicht unbedingt der passende Ort. Hier scheint die Auffassung „Kunde droht mit Auftrag“ gerne umgesetzt zu werden, indem der Gast unfreundlich bedient wird und das „Lächeln“ des Personals anscheindend sehr stark durch die Erdanziehungskraft nach unten gezogen wird. Gerichte, wie Krautfleckerln sind geschmackslos und hinterlassen einen größeren Hunger als man vorher hatte. Das schummrige Licht ermöglicht nicht das Lesen der Zeitung, dafür hat das Personal für ihre Kreuzworträtsel genug Lich...
