"This cafe has changed hands and not for the better. It has become trendy and much better on Facebook than in reality. I cannot believe that I just paid £9 for a slice of sourdough toast topped with half a Portobello mushroom, one slice of halloumi, one poached egg topped with flavoured mayo served on a wooden board. The surroundings have become sterile and lacking in character. The clientele are mostly on laptops which creates an office vibe rather than that of a neighbourhood cafe. That aside the food was very tasty and the service pleasant. I am mourning the loss of a community amenity!"

A little gem in Ladywell. Splendid rear garden which was just great in the sun with a good amount of shade. And the coffee was really, really good.

Between the bus stop and the station, fitting neatly and compactly into a small unit (although someone told us later there may be a garden at the back). Liked the simple furniture and people. Good fair priced menu. Ver carta

1. They’re friendly. 2. The coffee is good (even the decaf! 3. They serve a cappuccino at the right temperature I.e. not so hot that you can’t drink it for five minutes nor taste anything but heat. So glad I live 5 mins away!

A hidden gem of a coffee shop. I've only had pastries and coffee to be fair but they've been outstanding every time and the staff very courteous professional and quick. The chocolate cookie was just delicious. If you are in the area and in need of caffeine it's worth checking out.

Got a knock on the door to find a Birthday breakfast delivery from Oscar’s! The ‘delivery chap’ stood back by the gate to wish me a very happy birthday. What an unexpected birthday treat arranged by my lovely daughter. Thank you ‘Oscar’s for delivering not only yummy breakfast food but the best flat white I’ve had in months! Ver carta

Top of the tree. I was looking for the best Café in LEWISHAM and think I may well have found it. Service, pastries, snacks and superb coffees. We enjoyed the two highlight coffees from Ethiopia and Rwanda, both excellent. Could be served a few degrees warmer but presentation was like for a competition winner. The rear garden was a delight. Definitely looking forward to being back, even though it’s 30+ miles for me.

This cafe used to be a very nice and affordable place to go with friends or family. I am now left feeling ripped off and disgusted by the 'lunch ' options and ridiculously small portions. The little amount of food was at least tasty, but I am still bemused by how these people are allowed to get away with this. Expensive prices for what can only be described as a soulless, bohemian experience which takes the word gentrification to a new level. Used to be a decent cafe, now not for me I 'm afraid.

"Me and my flatmates went to Naifs to celebrate one of our own's MA degree with a nice meal, and we are so glad that we did. Anne and the team were incredibly personable and friendly, which really stood out to us. As somebody who has worked many years in hospitality, one can tell that there is clearly a very tight-knit team at work here who does what they do out of and with love. We really enjoyed the concluding chat with the kitchen team about the amazingly delicious olive oil they served us with the bread it comes straight from the chef's uncle's olive plantation! The atmosphere was really lovely as well, and a lot of thought clearly went into it: there were lots of candles, soft light, beautiful serving plates. We found the decor very tasteful in general: the restaurant has a cozy, but elevated bistro feel to it which makes it the perfect place for a broad variety of occasions. We had the set menu, which at 27 GBP came at very good value. The menu really demonstrated just how colorful vegan and vegetarian spreads can be: the colors on the table alone were such a delight to behold! Needless to say it also all tasted amazing. We particularly liked the mushrooms in lemony broth, the dhal and the aubergine stew. Every dish had a creative spin on it that made it into something we had never tasted in that way before. The wine that was recommended to us was very nice as well. We finished our meal with a selection of British cheeses, which was very well put together. Naifs focuses on seasonal and regional ingedrients, which is another factor that really convinced us, and which is something that more restaurants should focus on. Whether you're a veggie or not: if you want to dine at an all around truly special place, you need to try Naifs. Keep up the awesome work, guys we will be back very, very soon."

"my friend and I went to capitulate for dinner to celebrate his birthday, as was capitula, we thought the only decent restaurant in blackheath. all the others seem to be pushing down quickly. we have been in the past often in the capitulas, and the food and services were good we had no appetizers and ordered only one main meal (black foam and black bell), because we were not huge hungry because we were eating a lot of birthday cakes earlier! we had a glass of wine and were offered a piece of bread. 35 minutes later we waited for our food. in this time no one came to ask if we were in order or offer us more drinks. I asked the manager if our food was ready. he said it would be 5 minutes without a statement of delay then disappeared 10 minutes later there was no sign of food or manager. That is why we decided to go because we lost interest in eating. we have to go and the manager came by. he told us the delay was due to a big party in the ground floor. this was not the case, there was a group of 8 people who had finished their meal for a long time. we were there earlier when it was much more business and the service was not so bad. while we waited, we saw a customer who had finished their meal, slipped £20 into the manager hand when he left. Perhaps the workers need bribe to provide good services? it is such a scandal, but another blackheath restaurant has become complicit and believes that it with the treatment of its customers without respect. I will vote for one with my feet and will not eat again in this restaurant. I will also leave everyone I don't know to go there"
