Café Sibylle - Menú

Four of us on a bus tour decided to get off nearby and ended up in here for a morning coffee. Very interesting place with lots to see, especially for a café! Not expensive and worth paying a visit, if anywhere close.

Café Sibylle houses an exhibition on the history of Karl-Marx-Allee so is always of interest to the discerning tourist. If all you want is coffee and cake, however, you can get better value elsewhere - as at Café Tasso just down the road.

Cafe with nice surroundings, nice menu but staff seemed to be occupied with personal matters... Also I wasn't allowed to see the sightseeing place because I was traveling alone. The atmosphere wasn't very welcoming. Didn't bother to see the minimuseum.

Just as the kids were tiring from walking along Karl Marx Strasse, this nice little retro cafe turned up. OK selection of cakes, and a few savory dishes. Nice glasses of wine and beer, and great coffee. Interesting atmosphere, almost like a 50ies private home I guess

Nice coffee house with a great historical perspective. They have a lot of antiquities from the Eastern European era. You can go inside and smell the history- clean toilets as well. The coffee is quite expensive got Germany - €3.80 for an espresso and €2.60 for a cuppachino. Worth a visit

We loved this cafe. The coffee was good, the cakes only OK, service was fine, but still one of the highlights of our Berlin trip. The architecture on Karl-Marx-Allee is amazing, and walking into this cafe is like stepping back in time. Lots of interesting historical information and artefacts that meant we stayed way longer than expected. Recommended.

We came here on a rainy day and were very glad to have a cup of coffee and a 2nd breakfast of scrambled eggs. They opened late and took a while to bring our order although it was not full. However, we used the time to inspect their small collection of GDR memorabilia, which was fascinating (the mustache and ear of the Stalin statue which used to stand nearby, for eg or the East German version of lego).

el café sibylle en Berlín podría ser una de las escenas de la película “La vida de los otros”, de Florian Henckel von donnersmarck. fue uno de los lugares más populares en el este de Berlín y todavía hoy mantiene la estética de los primeros 60. situado en el distrito de trabajo friedrichshain en la icónica calle Karl-Marx-Allee, conocida hasta 1961 como calle stalinallee es un lugar para tomar un café o vodka con amigos y pausa en el bullicio del turismo de Berlín ya que es un lugar muy tranquilo. con un aire sobrio y funcional es también una galería de la historia de la famosa avenida, en ella podemos encontrar carteles, juguetes y otros objetos del escenario socialista. Te mueve a otro mom...

A very interesting building, make sure you visit the small museum at the back. It features a typical East Berlin sitting room & household items.I'm not sure if I timed my visit badly, as several things I requested (red beer & schnitzel) were out of stock. Perhaps this is part of the East Berlin authenticity.Ended up with green beer- looked like washing up liquid, tasted nice. And a ham flan. Was a little disappointed that it was covered in onions, which weren't mentioned on the menu. Managed to scrape them all off (there were a lot) without a taste being left behind. The flan (minus onion) was ok and had plenty of meat on it. Would have preferred the schnitzel though.The service is unrushed...
