Café Sibylle - Carta

also the British comedy show called fawlty towers stared john cleese. remember basil fawlty's wife names yes, that's right, it was sibylle, that was.

We stopped over while we we're walking through the super cool neighborhood in east Berlin. Had a good drink and enjoyed the eat germanstyle bar. The staff however couldn't be bothered. Completely indifferent.

Four of us on a bus tour decided to get off nearby and ended up in here for a morning coffee. Very interesting place with lots to see, especially for a café! Not expensive and worth paying a visit, if anywhere close. Ver carta

Café Sibylle houses an exhibition on the history of Karl-Marx-Allee so is always of interest to the discerning tourist. If all you want is coffee and cake, however, you can get better value elsewhere - as at Café Tasso just down the road.

Cafe with nice surroundings, nice menu but staff seemed to be occupied with personal matters... Also I wasn't allowed to see the sightseeing place because I was traveling alone. The atmosphere wasn't very welcoming. Didn't bother to see the minimuseum.

Just as the kids were tiring from walking along Karl Marx Strasse, this nice little retro cafe turned up. OK selection of cakes, and a few savory dishes. Nice glasses of wine and beer, and great coffee. Interesting atmosphere, almost like a 50ies private home I guess Ver carta

Nice coffee house with a great historical perspective. They have a lot of antiquities from the Eastern European era. You can go inside and smell the history- clean toilets as well. The coffee is quite expensive got Germany - €3.80 for an espresso and €2.60 for a cuppachino. Worth a visit

We loved this cafe. The coffee was good, the cakes only OK, service was fine, but still one of the highlights of our Berlin trip. The architecture on Karl-Marx-Allee is amazing, and walking into this cafe is like stepping back in time. Lots of interesting historical information and artefacts that meant we stayed way longer than expected. Recommended.

I came here specifically for the exhibition about the building of Karl Marx Allee and really enjoyed it, especially because it's within one of the buildings that it is about.The interior also has quite a retro feel with some modern artistic additions. The lady working in the café was very friendly and I decided to stay for a snack and soak up the atmosphere - scrambled egg with salad and a hot chocolate which were great and reasonably priced. I found it to be a quiet and relaxing place. Ver carta
