"I took my kids on Valentine’s Day to make them feel special. I’ve been to Caffe Mamma’s many times before but hadn’t been for a while. This time was hit and miss for me. I ordered chicken nuggets and chips for my son, but the nuggets were tough. He struggled a little with them, saying they were tough and dry. Our starters were nice. We ordered Calamari and prawns. Both lovely. When it came to main, I usually order pasta, but rather than going for my usual choice, I went for lasagne. I regretted it the moment it arrived. It was just full of tomato sauce. The waitress who took the dish back asked me what was wrong when she saw it wasn’t even barely touched. I told her it’s just drenched in tomato sauce, I could barely find any meat and just got stringy cheese and tomato sauce. I expressed I was disappointed with the dish. They did nothing. In the end, we ordered dessert which was ok. But when I paid the bill for £80, it left me feeling disappointed. I still kept a happy face for the kids but wished I’d booked the Chinese restaurant two doors down instead. I won’t be going back to Caffe Mamma’s after this visit."

The staff and owner were excellent and very welcoming. We came to celebrate a birthday and they went above and beyond and they even put up a birthday sign and decorated the table. The food was also authentic Italian and we can't wait to go back! Ver carta

As always, a lovely welcome and excellent service. We had the full range of mains: Lamb rack, Calves liver, Halibut all beautifully cooked. The lads appreciate the good portion size and all our preferences were catered without fuss. House wine is a very good Montepulcano and lots of choice for desserts. We love the Tiramisu. Great to have a local Italian of this quality. Back soon.

Food v mediocre. Rack of lamb was more fatty than lamb. Pasta bland no life in the sauce. Ambience was quite good. Service was atrocious. Kept on forgetting items e.g. pizza forgotten for one of the children then asking kids to share a pizza as a stop gap, water being forgotten, rosemary sauce for lamb being forgotten...list goes on. Value for money v poor at approx 50/head. Expected better at that price.
