"Twelve of us went out for a birthday anniversary meal to the Cantine Bambou. You just cannot miss this place on the RN at Font Mourier in Cogolin. The entrance to their car park is flanked by two large imitation Elephants, just go in...and their is a car valet to assist you with parking. THE CUISINE WAS EXCELLENT ! I had Papaya Salad for starter and they gave me a choice of or chillies. I chose chillies, a wise choice as I think chillies might have been just too spicy for me. For my main course I had Pad Thai Chicken, which was ‘to die for’ ! From where I sat I could see into the kitchen and there were two Thai ladies doing the cooking hence, the TRULY AUTHENTIC CUISINE thank you ladies. One of our party had a slight delay in receiving her starter, hence my reduction down to stars however, this minor inconvenience did not effect the overall Thai Cuisine experience, which was wonderful. The “Cantine Bambou” is highly recommended."

This restaurant is the real deal unlike all the others claiming to be Thai. The kitchen staff are Thai. All the dishes are lovely and taste just like they do in Thailand. Constantly busy and the garden atmosphere is lovely. I just wish they did...a menu so it is more affordable and that way l could eat there more often.

Restaurant is bizarre, with so many different kinds of decoration, and different rooms, you actually don't know where you are. It has a Thai theme , and a mexican bike theme...Bizzare It is cold inside in winter and no heaters were offered. The food was very average, the menu is large and varied, but food very ordinary. The staff are friendly.

An excellent welcome and friendly service in this restaurant did not, unfortunately, make up for very average food. The spicy prawn soup contained uncooked down lemongrass and ginger, which we had to remove before eating. The green chicken curry was bland bland bland! Husband enjoyed...his chicken sate and gentle chicken curry....but then he is not a lover of spice! If you are, this is. It the place for you!

We were a large party of people who all comfortably fitted around a large circular table that was ideal. There was an extensive range of entrees ranging from upwards and all went down well. The ladies felt it would have been better if...they had shared an entree be tween The main courses were all well prepared and everyone seemed satisfied. Bottles of wine started at or could be bought by the glass. Service was good. All in all a good experience

We found this amazing restaurant as we were just driving by. We went in and they were closed by they welcomed us in so we could checkout this beautiful place. We loved it. It is so authentic and nicely decorated with Oriental taste. The statutes,...Buddha’s, pebble flooring on the ground, the lightings the furnitures look amazing. It was out last night in Saint Tropez so we decided to come and eat at night before go went back to Canada, and it was the best idea. So delicious, polite staff, authentic food and excellent taste reasonable price. Just perfect. We highly recommend this place. Ver carta

The ambiance is very inviting even though close to a road. Service was very quick. We ordered Thai iced tea and this was super sweatened. When asking the answer was simply we know its very sweet but its pre made so i can offer water...to put in We did that and it took liter of water for glasses of tea to make this tea have another taste than only sweet. Then the Pad Thai was again very sweetened, green curry was pretty sweet too. Rice was tasteless and overcooked. The only good things we can recommend are the Nems (presented as house made) that had a really fresh taste and the sate chicken. Overall: Stay away. This has nothing to do with the great thai cuisine

We’ve been coming to this great out of town Thai restaurant for around years. It never changes. AND that’s a good thing ! It’s run by the same family and seems to be the same Thai lady who cooks there. What also doesn’t change...is the beautifully fresh, tasty authentic Thai cuisine. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection and absolutely gorgeous. Better than most Thai restaurants in central London ! It’s always like saying hello to an old friend. As certain dishes they have on the menu, you don’t often find in other Thai restaurants like their Sweet basil stir fries, served with a fried egg and their delicious homemade caramelised banana pancakes. Yummy!

"Popped up to this lovely restaurant this week. First things first, if you're going to come in the summer, it's indoors so expect it to be warm and expect to need to book. Also, bring cash. On to the main info. Didier who owns the restaurant is someone my family met when we stumbled on him at a restaurant 15 years ago. Over the years, we have never missed visiting him if we can. The man is worth visiting any restaurant for alone. He is such a character and so charming. Now with his piano in his restaurant, we love to hang around later on in the evening and play/sing a bit of impromtpu jazz too.The setting is cut into the rock and this is exposed in some of the back areas of the restaurant. The walls are beset with lots of colourful and interesting pieces of art that he has gradually accumulated. Expect to be sitting close to fellow guests and on odd chairs with odd patterned china but it's all part of the fun. The food: mum, the pescatarian, loved the aubergine starter and the fish on offer. The lasagne starter was to die for and the chicken so tasty! My bf thought the chorizo on his pizza was incredible. And the lamb gorgeous too. The pain Tchinch was soooo good and a dessert fiend's best friend. A bit like a Belgian waffle. The moelleux au chocolat is always decadent. The food portions are substantial and for the 31 euros for a three course menu (which does not restrict your choices), a bargain! I didn't indulge much this week in wine but I did try Didier's and it was lovely. The upstairs: part of the roof is missing upstairs in the chill out area and it's lovely and cool. Wonderful for relaxing on the sofas/chairs for a complimentary shot of limoncello at the end of the evening.Verdict: this is a lovely hidden gem set in an ancient village with more character than you can find elsewhere in the Côte d'Azur."
