fab ambiente and eat. friendly staff and place is busy so when they are in a hurry, they go somewhere else. if they can save the time, it is worth it. that look is also immaculate!

The place is nice and clean, the staff are helpful and polite. I tried classic eggs with salmon and that was wow. I also had Italian French toast and that was also up to the challenge. Their pistachio croissant is the top of the whole experience.

Carluccio's is beautifully situated on Rosslyn Hill, just down from Hampstead High Street, so it's easy to reach yet still at the heart of gorgeous scenery. At peak times it can be quite busy, but it's rarely impossible to find a seat. They have an abundance of outdoor seating, and the indoor seating area is quite spacious. Updated March 2019: This restaurant has returned to a five-star rating with food that meets the highest standards. While I find the new children's menu lacking and somewhat frugal, the attentive staff is often able to substitute items from the main menu, which improves the experience significantly. It can occasionally be the standout restaurant in the area, although the quality of the food can sometimes vary. However, the service is consistently excellent!

Carluccio's has a pleasant atmosphere, featuring a deli section on one side and the main restaurant on the other. I ordered the penne alla luganica, and while the sauce was quite enjoyable, the dish itself felt a bit ordinary. I had hoped for something a bit more exciting, like the tortelloni with venison. Carluccio's is a fairly popular chain, and while we were dining, we were excited to spot English comedian and writer Stephen Merchant sitting right in front of us! If he enjoys it, then it must be quite good.

Another breakfast option I highly recommend is their special colazione, which consists of scrambled eggs, sautéed mushrooms, grilled pancetta, and more, all accompanied by toasted Italian bread. If you pair this with your choice of tea, coffee, or juice, you have a delightful meal called "colazione magnifica" – definitely worth trying as a fantastic breakfast combo. In addition to breakfast, they offer two-course and three-course dinner options. You can also opt for just a hot drink paired with their amazing Italian cookies or their "piatto di biscotti."
