"We enjoyed a lovely Sunday lunch at this restaurant. The roast beef and roast lamb were excellent, and the vegetables were delicious and plentiful. The Yorkshire pudding was flavorful and crispy, not greasy. The mint sauce and horseradish were also great. The staff paid attention to special requests such as 'no gravy' or 'well done beef'. The starters and desserts had a nice variety and were imaginative. The cheesecake was smooth and light with a delicious biscuit base, just how I like it. The homemade coconut macaroon was also a hit. The warm chocolate and walnut tart was a unique and tasty dessert option. The portions were generous, and we were offered more vegetables if we wanted them. The staff was warm and friendly, and the atmosphere was welcoming. The prices were reasonable for the high quality food. This was the best roast beef I've had in at least ten years. Thank you!"

Always very welcoming with lovely friendly staff. Food and coffee excellent. We usually book for our group which is wise as the cafe is very busy. Nothing is a problem. No wonder it is popular!

Visited as four adults for Sunday lunch, wheelchair friendly. Good choice of mains, we had lamb, beef and chicken all of which were lovely. Crispy, large Yorkshire puddings and lots of seasonal veg. Choice of 3 desserts which were all nice, though best was the orange and lemon posset. Very helpful staff. A nice experience.

What a shame Called in for breakfast this morning me and my father in law both had the cedar breakfast the quality of the products were excellent but let down with being cold the plates were in fact that hot you could not touch them but unfortunately this does not mean the food is the same toast was stone cold and could be snapped what a shame. We, along with our 2 great friends, have today(November 12) had a fabulous Sunday lunch at Cedarbarn. We all agreed that it was the best we have had. Beautiful meat(2xPork and 2xBeef) cooked to perfection and accompanied by plentiful vegetables. Great friendly staff. What more can we say….top drawer! This place deserves all its accolades. We will definitely be back!! Thank you again. Ron and Nicole Ferguson

During a brief stay in the area, we stumbled upon Cedar Barn and decided to have lunch there. The lasagna was exceptional, and the service was both good and friendly. We found it to be great value for money. Additionally, we purchased two ribeye steaks from the farm shop that turned out to be the best-flavored steaks we have had in a long time. We will definitely be returning to Cedar Barn when we are in the area again.

We live over 100 miles away but this place is a regular haunt if we are ever in the vicinity. The food is always good and staff very pleasant, we follow them on facebook and it is a joy to see such a quality community minded busines thrive. We always take supplies from the butchers to stock up our freezer, the sausages are wonderful, as are the steak pies! It's also a great place to visit with children and our grandchild recently enjoyed his first visit and trip on the train. You could easily spend an afternoon here Ver carta

During our stay at High Oaks Grange, we discovered this gem of a farm shop next door and quickly became regular visitors. Their selection of local produce, including fresh bread, homemade ready meals, and a variety of local beers, ciders, and gins, was outstanding. The cafe offers ample indoor and outdoor seating and the food quality is top-notch. We indulged in the Kitchen Gardeners Breakfast (vegetarian) and the Lighter Breakfast (which was still a generous portion and came with homemade pork sausage), along with a Sally Lunn and the delicious Buttery Cinnamon Toast. Thankfully, they offer takeout and provided us with a box to bring our leftovers with us. We enjoyed our experience so much...

In general an excellent family meal a large group for Christmas lunch. Meal portions generous, well cooked and delicious. Service was obviously stretched as extremely busy and a couple of minor errors in what was ordered compared to what was delivered! Corrected promptly where needed. They do have a problem though in dealing with Bread Sauce! The exact same happened last year too… if it comes with bread sauce, that should happen automatically. It was offered and accepted but never came, so was chased. Then a minute ramekin appeared to be shared between 7! About half a teaspoon each. A further frugal mini portion came after the waitress realised a fruitless barrel scraping would result. Happi...

"The problem began with our arrival. We are 3 adults in our mid-60s and we had already climbed one set of steps to access the bar in the pub. We were escorted to our room up two more flights of narrow stairs. On entering our room, we could smell the damp in the room and discovered mould on walls behind furniture and in the corners of the window frames. We checked the prices of the evening meals on offer and there wasn't enough variety for our party and they were quite expensive. So we decided to eat out. I asked what time the pub closed and was told, when the last customer leaves. I thought that was a bit vague so I said that we would be back at 10-ish. We arrived back just after 10pm to find all entrances to the pub were fully locked up and we were unable to get in. I called the pub and, after a while, my call went to voicemail with a message that there was no one to answer my call. I left a voicemail, this was followed by another message to say that there was no one to respond to my voicemail! My party had got back into the car as it was raining and I drove to the front of the pub and sounded my horn for some time then drove to the back of the pub. At this point, a man appeared saying he had a message to come and let us in so, finally, we got in to the pub to access our room. We had an uncomfortable night but managed to get up for the early breakfast (great breakfast! and check-out. We raised all the damp and mould issues with the man who had let us in and, as one of us was asthmatic, told him that we would be leaving a poor review of the room and that they shouldn't book that room out to any one else until the issues were resolved."
