C’est la vie offers one of the best food experiences one can have. ‘Went with a couple of friends and sampled the new menu, introduced just this week and it is par excellence; I had the Menu Amélie and every course offered beautiful ingredients, a...variety of exotic flavours and textures.

Delightful evening with fine food and excellent service. We chose the wine pairings with the 5 course tasting menu, and as well as providing a splendid match to the food, this opened up warm conversations with the restaurant owners, which added to the enjoyment. A...very fun evening greatly enjoyable.

For us to have a good dinner is not just the food, it is combination of the total experience; the atmosphere of the place, the personal touch in the service, the variation of tastes, all of which will create a memory which can be remembered...a long time afterwards. C'est la vie was found by co-incidence on the Michelin guide website and they deserve a star from them on our humble opinion. We shall always remember this particular restaurant in Leipzig and it's wonderful staff. Many thanks!

Wow. I have to add to the accolades. My hubby and I visited for my birthday dinner, and this restaurant surpassed all our expectations in every way possible. The staff was warm, knowledgeable and absolutely lovely. The food was incredible and the wine pairings perfect...(we had 3 courses with wine). The origins and history of the various wines were fully explained to us with every glass. We were treated to additional courses and wine throughout. I am somewhat of a foodie and also appreciate good wine, and I have never had such a delightful experience. We were totally pampered the entire time. This restaurant is such a gem! I highly recommend it!

you can choose from 3 different menus, amalie, gerard and vegetarian. it's a bit strange that you can't choose from more than one menu, as the prices are identical. wehad 4 dishes from amalie and four of gerard and it was all very good. the champignon soup with wild pork was an explosion of the umami taste. the duck a’lorange was great and the 3 different cheeses at the end surprisingly tender. only on the bottom and the reason why I'm not prividing5 staring is that when they ask for water they will be eivan, imported from france. in these climate days it is a scandal to transport h2o over long stretches and every time a restaurant serves imported water, I will mention and dismantle. service...

C'est la vie is by a wide margin the best fine dining restaurant in Leipzig that I have been to. We've been to Falco (2 Michelin Stars), which was at most a 1 Star performance. Granted, we were at Falco between Christmas and New Years...Eve, when the A Team in restaurants tends to be on vacation We have been to just about every highly-rated restaurant in Leipzig. Max Enk (good wines, but just OK food), Mifune (novice, if not incompetent, Teppanyaki), etc. Sadly, there aren't a great many fine dining choices in Leipzig. My husband Tom I have to thank the many reviewers on Trip Advisor who gave such outstanding and detailed summaries of their experience at C'est la vie. Our evening there was simply wonderful. The restaurant is small (seats about 65) has an open kitchen,...has been recently and very tastefully renovated in a simple yet elegant style. It's been open for 3 1/2 years.
