"This restaurant is one of Val Thorens best kept secrets. Inside there is a gorgeous wine shop bursting with French wines at every price point and style imaginable. There are lovely tables for inside dining, but in sunny ski weather, the terrace right on the...snow is the perfect place to lunch apres-ski. The menu is not large, but don’t let that put you off. The dishes we had were extraordinary. And of an unexpectedly high standard. The frois gras for entree was served with steaming hot bread and a toasted brioche bun. Teamed with the rich but light frois gras, it was a taste sensation. We ate it slowly. The wines by the glass were excellent and we enjoyed a champagne with the entree. For main, the fish was an incredible dish. The fish melted in the mouth and was topped with a slightly Asian style sauce and sat on an ultra light bed of what may have been mashed parsnip and a few vegetables. Heaven. One of the best fish dishes I’ve ever eaten in France. That good. My friend had the beef tartare which was also elegantly presented and a taste sensation with just enough spice, egg and texture. Sitting in the sun watching the skiers, it was the kind of meal dreams are made of. We should have had dessert given how amazing the food was but instead settled on the white hot chocolate made with almond milk. Again a culinary delight pushing boundaries. Can’t wait to eat here again next season."

"Back to the Beavers after a decade, we forced The Star to always be there, just - on- the slopes above the Menuires, in front of the small village of apartments Les Montagnettes. Great place to stop for lunch or drink a drink, and to our pleasant surprise, also open for dinner! Ideal if you are in the Mountains and you don't want to cook. Good choice on the menu, including a number of local dishes. Very nice dining environment, thank you Damien and staff. (Original opinion) Returning in Les Menuires after a decade, we trod L'Etoile to be still there, right -on- the slopes above Les Menuires, opposite the little part village Les Montagnettes. Great place to stop for luch or a drink, and to our pleasant surprise, also open for Dinner! Ideal if you are in Les Montagnettes and don't want to cook. Good choice on the menu, including a number of local dishes. Very nice environment to have dinner, thank you Damien staff."

"Super expérience, petit restaurant perché au bord des pistes en bas de la station, dans un décor magnifique. Une vielle ferme en pierre à charpente apparente, au milieu de la montagne, magnifique cadre pour une prestation toute aussi top ! <br>La nourriture est délicieuse et locale au maximum, les plats comme les desserts sont incroyables, avec un service parfait, les serveurs sont souriants, simples, pas de superflue… un sans faute ! <br>La plus grosse surprise est le prix, qui est très acceptable pour un restaurant de station (25e la fondue), malgré la qualité des produits et le travail réalisé ! <br> <br>Il suffit de lire les commentaires négatifs pour comprendre que le restau est top, j’y mangerai à coup sûr à chaque venue à val Thorens ! "I have visited this area (La Toussuire Les Sybelles) for the past 5 years, summer and winter. Les Marmottes is one of the friendliest places we have come across. The staff are jovial and efficient. The food is tasty and the service is good. Best of all, the restaurant is at the bottom of the ski slopes you have a great view (in the sun from mid morning to mid afternoon) of where you've been skiing. In the summer, you can lounge around the pool, same beautiful view but rather green, and reminisce of where you had been skiing."

"Our raclette for 4 people and our plank for 3 people have the same amount of cheese and meat as the next table that ordered a raclette for 2 (mini 2 perso) and a plank for 2. Sharing should not have reduced the amount of food given. The atmosphere and decoration were very nice and the staffs were more welcoming but when we paid €28.3 to cook the meats ourselves with the boardtta(no value added from the chef) and could not have eaten enough, the value-price ratio is to improve. I repeat that sharing should not have reduced the amount of food given."
