Charlie’s - Menú

Called for lunch whilst visiting Holt. Sat outside in the pleasant courtyard. Menu was varied and we ordered a jacket potato and ham eggs and chips. Both were really good and of excellent quality. Service was also good. Will definitely return.

Avoid this place unless you want to wait 40 min for drinks and 1 HOUR for food….. I wouldn’t mind waiting if we had ordered full meals but all we had ordered was beans on toast which took 1 hour!! It wasn’t even busy, it was just terrible organisation and untrained staff.

Popped in for quick refresh and found had changed hands since last visit. Generous pot of tea and decent coffee, but better were homemade cakes, freshly made large scones; brownies and ginger cake on display. … was end of day, assume rest had all been eaten and sold. Reasonable prices for Holt !

What a charming café! We stopped in for tea, cake, and a milkshake and everything was absolutely delicious. The service was quick and friendly, and they even brought out dog biscuits for our furry companion. The prices were very reasonable. If you find yourself in Holt, be sure to pay them a visit!

This used to be one of the best restaurants in holt Lovely food , good menu and professional and friendly staff so was so disappointed to find that it is now run by unprofessional untrained staff Food is awful, waited over an hr to be served and choice limited Tables dirty and sticky plus only one shared toilet in use which was extremely dirty and unpleasant

Having visited just before the November lockdown, and having really enjoyed the place, we specifically went back during our June trip to Norfolk. Twice in fact! Great cakes, friendly staff, nice to sit outside somewhere just a bit tucked away from the busy main street. The hot chocolate was excellent, and I’m really fussy as I hate the insipid milky versions so many cafés offer! Keep up the good work!

I ordered two fruit scones and two teas at the restaurant. When the scones arrived, mine was burnt so I asked for a replacement. The waitress seemed unconcerned and brought me another one. Although it was not much better, we decided to just deal with it. Both scones were dense and had a texture similar to leftover mortar. I probably should have asked for something else but we managed to make them more palatable by drinking plenty of tea. This was my first and last visit to Charlies. I am giving it two stars only because the tea was decent.

Starter and main £12,excellent we thought,we chose vegetable soup nice)then we both chose roast beef,well not what I was hoping for,I think the only things that had been prepared were the carrots and potatoes not proper ones) the yorkshires not homemade,beans,peas were not fresh)and stuffing not homemade, the beef was wafer thin,not from a joint cooked on premises,gravy was OK, waitress was friendly asked all the right questions,the chef was rooted to the spot in the kitchen,so it was obvious these meals were not being prepared only heated. Poor.

Be warned, Charlie's is now under new management and the service is non-existent. My group, along with several others, waited almost an hour for our food. We were initially told it would be ready in 15 minutes after ordering and paying up front. After 30 minutes, we were then informed it would be another 15 minutes, only to be told that our order was only halfway done. These turned out to be lies, as we were eventually told that they could not fulfill our order. We then had to wait in line for our refunds.
