"We ought to have walked out as soon as we entered. The last time ate Creole food it was sensational but that was in New York with its high standard of cuisine. Montmartre likewise has many superb restaurants that present great din guests experiences. We simply made a big mistake choosing this one. It was cold and the place smelled damp. We understand food but we are not exceptionally critical, realising that you don't always hit a jackpot. However this meal was really very poor €27 euros is not very expensive but it was a waste of money. We haven't had a meal as bad as that in years anywhere. The starters were both tasteless, one crab pasty like concoction was not recognisable as having crab in it and its gloopy sauce was sickly and bland. My husband's boudin, blood sausage, was likewise bland with a salsa sauce that was unbelievably hot. Both were an insult to one's palate. For the mains, the shark was barely defrosted lukewarm and tasteless with a watery tomato sauce. The chicken curry was ok, quite tasty but entirely run of the mill and could be cooked with any spicey packet sauce. The boiled rice was cooked and sufficient. The coconut sponge was industrially produced but the other dessert, the ice cream, was very nice. Overall it was such a waste of an eating opportunity; it's rare to have the misfortune of eating such a poor meal in Paris. The signs were there before we'd even sat down, so we were kicking ourselves after. I'm amazed at the good reviews. Those customers are definitely not discerning diners!"
