"We are permanent residents in the Canton de Fayence. Over nearly two decades we've become somewhat jaded and sceptical when new restaurants pop up. Chez Hugo is small, intimate, and excellent. Two brothers run the operation along with the help of their diver. Hugo is in the kitchen and the meals he turns out are excellent. No other word but excellent will suffice. We were a table of five on a miserable cold night in March. Mains ran from fish to meat; the entrees were light and imaginative without being artsy cutesy. The orientation of the restaurant is to provide meals that are made with fresh seasonal ingredients. The supply chain, carefully selected, drives the menu. This makes a big difference because the resulting dishes are honest and full of flavour. To the best of their ability they source locally; there are good suppliers in the area. Wines are from Provence and many are bio. Service is excellent and friendly. We had the impression the staff was having fun. This restaurant has done a lot in the Canton to raise the quality and value of their competition. Word of mouth, vitally important in our community, includes many stories of other restaurants being forced to rethink their business models in order to compete with Chez Hugo. Their prices are reasonable which is highly unusual. It's wise to book. You will not be disappointed. Whitebeard83"

The starters were a little disappointing but the steaks and desserts were outstanding. Friendly staff and good house wine.

Nous sommes arrivés là un peu par hasard. Et vu les avis sur ce site nous avons décidés de nous y arrêter. Entrée, plat dessert, tout était délicieux avec beaucoup de saveur différente dans chaque assiette.

We were there twice! First time was so perfect, we couldn't resist! Next time we took our family there. It was perfect both times! Delicious food, very pleasant atmosphere and great service. I'd come back any time! Ver carta

This is our go-to restaurant if we want to eat out. The food quality is consistently excellent and the menu changes to reflect the seasonal availability of products. I love the freshness of the salad! My only gripe is that last time we were there, the waitstaff forgot the San Pellegrino water we ordered but we still got charged for it. It wasn't particularly busy at that time and I don't know how could he forget it.

I came here for dinner with my mother, who lives locally, and as soon as we sat down I knew this was going to be an evening to remember! The outdoor dining area looks out onto a wonderful view of the village, and the location is generally quite charming. At the time I was on a special diet, and the chef made an extra effort to accommodate me which was very thoughtful. The family-run atmosphere is wonderful, and the staff made us feel very welcome. They explained each dish and you could tell that they were proud of what they were serving. Definitely coming back here soon! Ver carta

My wife and I went for lunch on a Saturday and it was very quiet. In April the sun on the terrace is only there until 14:00. The staff were very friendly and the service was very good. The menu is very very limited. I had the artichoke starter which was very nice. My wife and I had the Gnocchi with daube it was nice but a very strong flavour of fennel which I am not a big fan of. Generally a very nice visit we will go back when the weather is warmer and I will contact the restaurant what is on there menu. Maybe they could add it to there facebook page when they change it.

The first time we went to Chez Hugo we had high expectations due to tripadvisor and we weren't disappointed. One of the brothers who owns it is the chef and the other is the front of house. The front of house brother was a little arrogant at first, but I have to admit he had every right to be, as everything we had was excellent. So much so that we returned for lunch again a few days later (he remembered us and was very welcoming the second time around: I think he just has a dry sense of humour! :o)) All of his staff are really friendly. The views over the village and surrounding countryside are stunning and the inside is really nice too: rustic and cave-like. The apricot clafoutis is possibly...

"Le Castelleras is a wonderful restaurant with wonderful views and great food and wine. The restaurant sits overlooking the scenic village of Fayence and has really beautiful views from its terrace. Spring and summer are my favourite times of the year to eat at this fantastic dining spot. The restaurant is a family affair with a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere. I have always found the service to be warm and helpful. Most speak English for the non French-diner and I have always enjoyed a great night here. The restaurant offers a relatively narrow menu but I have found them very flexible and on one occasion I attended with vegan friends and this was no problem… they accommodated on the night with wonderful options. The food is excellent… we recently had a wonderfully prepared starter of sautéed wild mushrooms, followed by a delicious main course of turbot. It was delicate, tasty and elegantly presented. They serve a cheese course with truffled brie made on the property which was also very tasty and then we chose a fig tart with ice cream which was lovely. Their wine selection is excellent… I am a big fan of the Chateau Rasque Clos Madame Rose and White but they have excellent examples of the best of Provencal wines and for those who want something further afield there are nice burgundy and Bordeaux options. On Wednesday’s in the summer, they often have a lovely jazz evening with live music which is great fun. Overall I highly recommend le Castelleras. We have been coming here for a number of summers and it only seems to get better. In my view, this is definitely Michelin star quality cooking in a fabulous outdoor setting."
