"We used to frequent Chez Phillippe a lot under the previous patron, whose use of ingredients and flair of presentation made each visit a joy of discovery and was good value for money. We visited again and found it had changed hands and whilst the new patron was very pleasant and had, we were told done a hand over so similar dishes could be offered- we found it not so good. The flair was lacking now- we used to enjoy all the little glasses and dishes which made up each menu item, but the menu was much more plainly delivered now. Not bad food, but not as exciting. One thing we did feel was poor was our dessert stated on the menu that it came with icecream, but this was not provided- we asked and it was sent with apologies that the chef forgot- however, a few minutes later another customer was served the same dessert - again with no icecream- it seemed as though the maximum profit was being squeezed out of the menus. The location and the out door dining under the big trees is still attractive but we will give it a miss in future as there are other better value places to eat out there."

The menu for € 28 is outstanding value! Nice atmosphere and good wine list. Good service with a smile!

Service good, interesting menu choices and a lovely large outdoor - but shaded - dingin area. Good value for money too.

Loved it here-the people were accommodating and helpful and helped us choose some local aperitifs-we had oysters delicious and sea bass-the service was super and the value for money good-nice to sit outside in their lovely covered garden! Would recommend! Ver carta

My son asked me to choose a restaurant to take me to for my birthday and we were not disappointed! We ate from the €28 menu and it was superb, the wine menu very good and the service was excellent. A wonderful dining experience and a great birthday treat!

Ate with family, six of us. We all chose the 28 euro prix fix menu, excellent selection and great value for money. All the courses were served with excellent accompaniments. One starter of fois gras, along with the normal salad, brioche and "chutney" had a crème brulee on. Totally unexpected but worked really well. Main courses and desserts of similar high quality. Would certainly recommend

This was only my second visit, the first being 3 years ago whilst under different ownershipThe difference was palpable, very limited choice,(2 of the 5 starters were melon, and fish or duck for mains). The food was unspectacular with a ball of sweet ice cream served with each savoury course, not to my taste at all.Service was pleasant, surroundings nice, but absolutely nothing to make me return regrettably.Unlike 3 years ago when the food was sublime, and the choices far more prolific and recognisable. We found Chez Philippe when wandering around Marseillan, booked it there and then and it proved to be an excellent choice. Located just behind the main restaurants of the port means it's a hidden gem with prices representing good value rather than the somewhat inflated prices for a view of the port. We liked the other guests all being French. Despite two large parties we had excellent service and quality. The waiters and manager were all very friendly and helpful. The 28€ menu was excellent, particularly the fois gras starter and outstanding fois gras creme brûlée. The St Pierre a la creme was also delicious. Altogether an excellent meal.

This place is only an extra 30 seconds from the other restaurants by the harbour, but the ambience was so different; quiet, warmer in the air, beautiful seating area with a canopy, really lovely! We actually walked past this place to get to the harbour, them after a few moments turned around and went back! We each had the 28euro set menu dinner, with a starter, main and dessert. I had a beef carpaccio starter with a wonderful homemade pesto and bread, then a breaded cod with herby potatoes, escargot and sweet potato, and then the tarte tatin. Others at my table has foie gras, sardine tartlette, duck burger and chicken thigh. The food was absolutely amazing. So delicious, the service was frie...
