"Came off A1 in route 'up North ' after reading positive reviews. It didn 't disappoint. Loved the decor. Friendly staff too. Made a welcome change from stopping at services. Hubby had full English, l had eggs benedict. Both delicious. Eggs were amazing! Both had large americano and had change from £20! Would definitely revisit."

"I had an excellent experience at this restaurant! I called at 1:15 PM to confirm they were open and mentioned we would arrive in 15 minutes. I requested them to have coffee ready, and it was waiting for us when we arrived. The service was outstanding, and the food was absolutely amazing. The ambiance made it our favorite spot near Retford. Whether you're looking for silver service or bar meals, the food is top-notch, and the service is fantastic. Overall, I rate the service 5 out of 5 and the location 5 out of 5 as well. One of the highlights is how quiet the hotel is. Highly recommend!"

"We were warmly welcomed into this beautifully decorated old inn and immediately knew we had chosen the right place. The menu and food were exceptional, making our birthday celebration for the three of us extra special. The staff and family owners were attentive and made sure we had a great experience. The venue was cozy and comfortable, with tasteful furnishings and clean facilities. Despite arriving early for our reservation, we were greeted warmly. We traveled far for this dining experience and were happy to have made reservations in advance. We will definitely return and highly recommend this wonderful family-owned restaurant."

"I visited my sister and her family who live in Tuxford and needed a place to stay nearby. I chose The Fountain Inn, and I'm so glad I did! My young daughter and I stayed in a comfortable two-bedroom. Breakfast was provided every morning, and the room was clean and cozy. The staff were very helpful, and we enjoyed our meals in the restaurant. I would highly recommend this place to everyone, and I plan to stay here again next year!"

"For our main dishes, we tried the mussels with speck and saffron and the beef and mushroom pie. The mussels were plump and perfectly cooked, served with a tasty shellfish broth and homemade focaccia. The pie was filled with tender steak, mushrooms, and rich gravy, all encased in a crispy, buttery pastry. Although we were already full, we couldn't resist trying some of the homemade desserts. We shared a sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel ice cream and a delightful butterscotch sauce, all of which were made on-site and absolutely delicious. Overall, this restaurant is definitely worth a visit, even if it requires a journey to get there. We already can't wait to go back and try more dishes from their menu. This is how country pubs should be!"
