"We’ve been enjoying this place for nearly ten years, and it offers delicious, hot, and freshly prepared Chinese food, along with a BYOB dine-in option. Although it changed ownership a few times, and we took a break due to concerns about food safety in the past, the new owners have really elevated the quality. The food is consistently hot, fresh, and flavorful, and there's a great menu with sizzling dishes and three types of dim sum available. The restaurant is clean and comfortable, with a take-out option and enough seating for diners at the front. One of the best features is the ability to bring your own alcohol, and there’s no corkage fee, making it a great option for a relaxed Friday night out without having to worry about cooking. The friendly owner runs the restaurant with his family, and they always treat diners to complimentary appetizers and a fortune cookie with the bill. We’ve never had a bad experience here. It's worth noting that they are closed on Mondays, and parking in the area can sometimes be challenging. Overall, it's a wonderful spot for a casual meal!"

Over the years, many Chinese takeaways have altered their recipes, but this restaurant has consistently maintained its questionable quality. The authenticity of the food here leaves much to be desired. I would recommend choosing China Phoenix instead, especially if you live nearby.

The Chinese cuisine here is consistently fresh and delicious, and the prices are quite reasonable. I also love that you can bring your own alcohol, which adds to the appeal. However, the decor is dated and feels quite old-fashioned. If the owner made some efforts to modernize the website, I believe the business would thrive. It's definitely worth a visit, and the owner even rents out the restaurant for parties in the evenings!

"On the day that government extended the tier 4 areas across the country, I collected dinner from Desi only to find that all the 3 employees inside Desi had no protection whatsoever. Not even bad placed mask on the chin as many people use, not a single mask at sight. Every other take away that I have used in the last week had employees with masks as mandatory for every open business. Being a restaurant with a open door on a tier 4 area I expected much more from Desi."

"Haven't been to a wimpy in years. As this one is in the shopping centre the cold blasts from doors open didn't happen. Order taken fairly swiftly. All the cutlery placed carefully in the middle?? Ice in a drink we'd asked not to have. And the last meal arrived at the table well after the others, we were beginning to think it wasn't coming, with a query as to whose it was. Duh! Obviously the person not yet eating. No extra sauces offered so had to catch waiting staff attention. Food was quite nice with the exception of overcooked fish fingers."

"The staff were very attentive and service was very prompt. I had the fish and chips which were the best that I have had at Sudbury House. My friend had the steak, which although was cooked a little more than the requested rare, was excellent and the pink peppercorn sauce was very delicious. Sadly we were too full to have a dessert. which was a shame because the choice was very tempting, next time hopefully! I live very locally and value having such a lovely place to eat out within walking distance of home."

"We had a great dinner with our family tonight. We really enjoyed our evening and had a table near the window. The atmosphere was busy but pleasant, and the waiters were lovely. This was our third visit in the last few months and we will definitely be back. The service was excellent. We had dinner and the price per person was between £40-50."

"The food and service were excellent. Always the way with miller and carter restaurants. There were a few problems, however. During the meal the table appeared to start leaning and it became difficult to keep our glasses from sliding. According to our waiter, the staff were too busy manning the lifeboats to deal with this so we just had to prop the feet of the table with beer mats (we 've all been there! . At one point we became concerned that the string quartet would leave before the end of our meal but we were assured they would go down with the ship whatever that means!"
