"Our manager was retiring and a group of 12 of us came for lunch. Whilst the service was generally very good and most were happy with what they had. Myself and my colleague were very disappointed with the Knickerbocker Glory. The menu stated that it contained fresh mango, banana and strawberries. However when it turned up, my friend who was sitting at the other end of the table to me noticed that there was no mango. She queried this with the waitress who asked her if she wanted mango sauce on the ice cream. I didn't know what conversation had taken part, the waitress asked me if I wanted mango sauce to which I replied no thankyou as I already had strawberry or raspberry sauce on my ice cream. As I started eating I noticed that there was no mango and then my friend said they had ran out. This was totally unacceptable, we should have been told this when we ordered. The Knickerbocker Glory was mainly banana. A very cheep alternative to mango! If they had ran out they could have easily popped to the market stall or one of the many supermarkets nearby. £6.95 for some banana and ice cream is totally unacceptable. The reason I didn't complain at the time is because it was my manager's Retirement and I didn't want to spoil or create a scene."
