"Nicely located in the pedestrian area of Saints, close to the Charente, the restaurant offers, at the choice, a large room or a terrace. the reception is warm as the decor of the room. the choice available on the map is impressive, I haven't made it yet. but one thing is certain: dispaysement assured for these quality dishes. I'm always backing the punjab, and this is for a very modest price (from 20 to 30 euros per person on average)."

"This establishment is a restaurant cum wine bar located somewhere in the back cobbled streets of Saintes. Limited lunch time menu consisting of a 3 course meal. The meal is very tasty and filling. Although the menu is set there is some room for manoeuvre,...we didn’t fancy the gizzards as a starter and the chef was happy to Russell up something different. Staff are very friendly and polite, they obviously have a good knowledge of wines and are happy to recommend a good accompaniment to your meal. All in all a pleasant experience in French dining and we will return here again."

"Very nice restaurant with a very warm welcome. A feast and also homemade, prices are very affordable and also a child menu at this price: 5€90 including dessert dish drink nothing to say. And very important a merchant soul at the top. I recommend it."

"We stumbled across this little gem of a Pizza restaurant on an overnight stop in Saintes. We both opted for steak as we were hungry. The entrecôte in France is the same cut as a ribeye and the 300 oz served in this little restaurant was cooked to perfection for just 18 euros. The staff and the service are simply superb. Saintes is a touch out of my way for a regular trip I do through from south western France to St Malo. But La Trattoria was so good we will definitely return every time we route through to the north!"
