"We went in Cromwell’s for lunch after having a wonderful breakfast of bagel with cheese, bacon and egg there previously. The staff were very attentive and helpful. We were not disappointed with the lunch my husband had homemade steak pie and mushy peas which was...absolutely lovely so I was told. I had the cod which looked and tasted divine with new potatoes veg how I have described it sounds boring, wish I had taken a photo because my words don’t give it justice. All I can say is thank you again for a fantastic meal, we will not be going anywhere else for breakfast or lunch."

my friends and I have been visiting cromwell for over 30 years. as some of us were vegetarian, we found the choice we offer extremely limited. this included both breakfast and lunchtime visits it would be great to see more options soon on the menu

I have done a tour of the best breakfast in Pontefract and this wins hands down. The creamy mushrooms are just too good. You can tell everything is made fresh. Cooked to a high standard and reasonably priced. Staff are all very friendly. It does...tend to attract the older crowd but highly recommend

it has everything they expect in a tee room and the prices are very reasonable. the only negatiw I had was the ice milkshake, it wasn't the thick American style that you would jump automatically, but it was still nice. the food was nice and came with an extensive beside salad that was was wasted on me.

Four of us had a light lunch in this café on Saturday, lovely old building. Very pleasant waitress who was really helpful and we had fishcakes/fish and chips. Very good portions, nicely cooked and presented. We had saved room for a dessert so had cakes...and one bread and butter pudding, very substantial pieces! and delicious. really enjoyed our meal

with friends visited for lunch. of sandwiches, light snacks and full meals there are many possibilities. when the kitchen that saw eating was beautifully presented and our not dissapoint. there was a good choice. desserts and it is also licensed if they are a glass wein or beer with their meal. it was very busy, but that didn't affect the service, waiting for eating was not long and the dishes were not waiting on the table after we had finished our meal. all very pleasant lunch.

Lunch with a friend at Cromwells lovely attentive service and food was spot on. I noticed the staff were extremely kind, considerate and attentive to a gentleman guest with additional needs and that for me was a rare and special moment. They took...time to check his order and explain particular issues such as the make up of a side salad. A truly super place and one that the staff should be proud of. It was our pleasure to eat with you and doubtless when I am back in the local area, I will return.

we were all very happy at our afternoon. it was really just O.K only a drink of tee or coffee in the price 15 per person). with possibly taking the scorpse were bought other cakes, mr. kipling type cake, which was a real disappointment. we should have said something really, but felt us. sandwiches were in order to be fair - although a small quiche or sausage roll instead of a few sandwiches and maybe some craps would have raised the meal. new owners so that we can give them another chance, although in all honesty, well likely go elsewhere.

"My wife and I had dinner at Coraima this evening whilst staying in Wakefield and what a delightful restaurant it is. The simple and authentically decor provides an instant relaxed atmosphere. We started with drinks. I had a Telba (a cold drink made with ground flax seeds) and my wife had a Beso (a cold, slightly sweet roasted barley drink). Both were delicious. For starters we shared a Beetroot Salad. It was very fresh with a delicately flavoured vinegar type dressing. As neither of us had had Abyssinian cuisine before, we decided to go for the 'Combination dish for two ' to give us an overall taster of their menu. A large round slate plate arrived with nine perfectly neat individual dishes sat on an injera (a slightly sour flat bread made from teff flour) with a further six neatly rolled injeras and four small chickpea flat breads. Every dish was very well spiced and made with care. Delightful and moreish. By the time we had eaten the whole plate we were nicely full but it did not feel heavy. We rounded the evening with hot drinks of a Shay (a North African spiced tea) and an Abyssinian coffee. The coffee (and popcorn) is not cheep at £9.95, however, this is by far the best coffee I 've ever tasted and a must for any coffee lover. We were informed that they roast the beans with spices in-house. Another sign of their dedication to present an authentic experience delivered with passion. Thoroughly recommended. Some additional information: 1. The restaurant is vegetarian and gluten free. 2. We had to pay a £20 no-show deposit when making the online table booking the day before, although, this has become, understandably, quite common for independent restaurants."
