"After the recommendation of a friend, we booked in to try the Cross Keys and I am so glad that we did. There's a car park just down the road, about a 2 minute walk away. When you walk into the pub, you are immediately hit with the smell of the cooking and you just know you are in for a treat. All the staff working, whether waiting tables or behind the bar were fantastic, service was on point. You are best to book, it goes get very busy and it's easy to see why. I went for the Portobello Mushrooms in a creamy blue cheese sauce which were insanely good and rich. The portion sizes are great, you get 3 big portobello mushrooms in the dish, they provide soup spoons for the sauce and plenty of bread for dunking. For mains, I had to go for the Toad in the Hole. Wow. A delicious Yorkshire pudding, crispy on the outside and nice and soft in the middle, with 3 delicious, herby butchers bangers inside. A beautifully buttery mash and a sage and onion gravy. The Toad in the Hole came in a skillet. Everything is seasoned so well and the flavours are so good that you just don't need any condiments/salt/pepper. Despite being full, we had to try the Desserts. I went for bread and butter pudding, a huge wedge, piping hot covered in marmalade came out with clotted cream. Cooked perfectly, moist inside and crispy on the outside. I cannot get over how good the food and service is and would urge anybody to get a table booked at the Cross Keys."

What a great pub. Hadn't been in a long while and now they have food back up and running. The meals were excellent and worth a visit. The service was excellent and the pub was very clean and tidy. I really enjoyed the visit and will be back for food again

Visited friends here for drinks on a Thursday evening. Really nice friendly atmosphere inside with lots of different seating areas. Drinks were very reasonably priced. The only negative point being parking was quite difficult to find in the immediate area. Would definitely come here again for drinks.

As a family of five, we arrived at 13:30 on a Saturday, I went to the toilet and was greeted outside of the toilet door by the waitress asking me what I wanted to order as the chef would be only cooking pizza after 14:00. We did order food, which when it came was very nice. I just didn't appreciate being to asked to choose so quickly.

Just got home after going for Sunday lunch. One of the best Sunday lunches we have ever had, the roast potatos and parsnips were really crisp and a good mix of vegetables. We didn't have a starter, because we wanted a sweat instead, and glad we didn't as we were almost full after our main course. If you want good home cooked food, then give this place a try and booking is advised.

We are locals to the area and use all the pubs in Burbage. Have to say the Cross Keys is the stand out. We haven’t used the new ‘out-source’ kitchen yet so this is purely based on the quality of beer which is always excellent , the staff are always very friendly and the Land Lord Eoin is as good as you’ll find. The pub itself is always clean and tidy. Keep the good work up Cross Keys !

Fantastic Sunday lunch again from Jones’s Bistro Burbage at The Cross Keys. Generous portions of meat (including lamb no extra cost! , lovely veg, roast potatoes and Yorkshire puds. Extra gravy is served without asking; I like mine swimming so big plus . Service was friendly, polite and timely, and all at an amazing price. Highly recommend for Sunday lunch and also for weekday lunch time food which is equally good.

On entry sign in with app but then no further guidance. Had to ask at the bar what procedure was...oh dear Marston 's, epic fail. Two waitresses, one in charge of drinks, one for food. Drinks one was hopeless, wanted refill of beer and she never came to take order. Food waitress very attentive. Food was superb: pie, buttery mash. The term 'greens ' actually meant Savoy cabbage. Tough if that was the one green you don 't like!
